Please give me a candy cane weapon. I'll be your best friend. (pretty please Tommy?)

Although I was hoping for the start of the next GWNC...
Go Anet!
Those green items should net some nice gold for PvP oriented players (the bow will be worth a fortune...).

Yeah.
More relevant though: check out the playoff structure for next season.

If you read it says that ANet sends an email with a key to unlock the items on your account, which means they will very likely be customized but you will be able to give them to all your chars (like preorder items).
Not too sure why only #1 gets Bow, that's kinda unfair hehe. Ah well, i guess they had to pick a weapon and they decided on bow!
I like it though. It seems that these green weapons are something worth competing for in a 'fun' season, especially if they're an account unlock. If you switch guild you don't keep the cape trim, but you will always keep these candy items

I should note, first and foremost, that this applies not the the ladder but to the playoffs only, so anyone that's not gunning for top 16 has nothing to worry about.
The bad news? what does this do for the game? It's not like the top 16 isn't going to be the same 20 or so teams that generally get it, so basically you're just making THEM play new things, not the whole ladder.

Hrm, so that kills Rt and Sins in playoff? Or do Rt and Sins have some of their skills moved to Core? I mean, they get some Nightfall skill, but you don't make a build out of the 25ish some skills they have in there only (Sin with no Twisting Fangs? Right).
Kinda lame =/

assassin with no AoD as well.
i'm all for leveling the playing field for new players, but this is not the way to do it.
the best way is to move some skills from previous chapters into the core skills set, so new players do not need to buy the old chapters. for example, i think it's about time for anet to just move all the prophecies skills into the core set, and maybe about half of the factions skills. i believe that's fair for everyone.

The playoffs will be Nightfall only it looks like - I imagine to get there you'll have to use skills from all 3 chapters . . .

i think this restriction is designed so that newer players can get into the tournament and still remain competitive without getting the older chapters. but if the regular season is still the way it was before, i double anyone with just NF have a hope of getting into the tournament. so this restriction really doesn't work too well.

Well, the regular season IS still the way it was before. And anyone with just nightfall would never, EVER be able to get into the top level of the tournament. (Unless it's a player who had earlier chapters and is a phenomenal player, and sold their account and just owns nightfall now+skill unlock packs. Which makes no sense, I know.)

WTB: CC key from whoever is #1 next season. I still have my old CC bow from last winter, but I sure wish it was a max dmg bow.

Disallowing Factions skills is an interesing choice, and it's going to mean that playoff teams really have to adapt their builds and plan in advance.
I think making playoffs for the top 32 guilds is an extremely good choice. Anything that gets more guilds involved in tournament play is a good thing, and more PvP rewards also rock.
