Yea, I'm pretty much retracting my former support for 6v6. I still feel that it has its merits, but it just doesn't compare to how Tombs was previously.

It was a test that Guru were trying, by putting in different sorts of ads. They removed it because everyone was posting how much they hated it, so you weren't the only one

And those ids are pretty empty.... most of the time it was impossible to get to ID1, now even this one is half-full. I know I got bored with it, and seriously I lost most of the fun I had with this game. The 8v8 change caused my guild to collapse and created many other problems with lots of my friendlist players leaving the game for other games ( eve, wow ). My estimates are that HA is now half the population is was before the change. There are skips all the time ( even from broken tower to HOH ), lots of teams are pure henchway... I know anet knows about this ( im sure they are monitoring number of players playing ), and I hope they are happy now....

Yep, sucks to have a 52 fame run by winning halls 7 times consec (broken tower -> halls) ... I'd rather go through the map rotation and THEN hold, but of course, skips are ****ing rampant, almost impossible to see every map.

This has been going on all month; it was just a little harder to see because there was a boost of team numbers and not players. I don't knwo what Anet expected of this change. You can automatically see what builds are holding in HA with Observer. That makes them instantly gimmickable; just copy and paste the skills to 6 players and go in. It did nothign to change the way HA works when grouping and very little to change how they opperate in game.
Well; not true. There was 1 big change to how HA is running now...
A prediction about henchway: its only going to get worse. if you can really use heroes anywhere that you could use henchies then Nightfall will turn this game into one interupt gimmick. I can see it now; teams filled with ranger and /ranger castors running apply poison and interupts while a rit sits in the backline and one tank--I said tank--takes the front to call targets and degen with his poisoned arrrows. How do you fight 3 ninga interupters with a henchman's ability? mesmer with mantra of resolve or take skills that only take 1/4 second to cast. Fun times there, taking out most of the skills in the game or shoving people into 1 type of alternate profession.

I have the same feeling, being running dual ranger conditions pressure build the whole time the last few days. We beat any group that did not run that build 1v1. And I feel that there are too many altar maps. I mean, 6v6 with two teams 1v1 has some fun. But you don't get to do it often. Always 3 team altar maps. Then it becomes an interupt fest really quick. Any team that does not have a ranger or pd mesmer have no chance, unless they face noobs. It gets boring really quick. Less and less people play hoh now. So tired of facing henchway.
I'm trying to compile a list of people that support the change. Though most of them was posted in Riverside.
mrdbeau:
1) 6v6 will become plagued by gimmick builds. I don't think it has, yet, nor do I think it will be, based on what I've seen so far.
2) All the time I've put into HA is going to be completely wasted and irrelevant by this change. I think just the opposite is bearing out. From what I've seen, the good players are still doing well and they may not get to hold halls for 18 matches, but people are going to have to understand that's just not going to happen much anymore.
3) Enjoyment factor. Most enjoyable two nights of playing HA since GW came out, even the matches when I got smoked. So many people in my parties have said the exact same thing... 'nuff said.
4) High level competition. This is a difficult area to assess. In some ways, it's paradoxically gotten more and less difficult at the same time. In terms of simply getting on a good team, winning some matches, getting to halls, then sure, it's gotten much easier and there are definitely more new people playing (a good thing).
5) Noobs finding groups more easily and rank elitism. Wow, this is by far the biggest and best change. The elitism is WAY down (I ran with several unranked groups over the past two nights, including the one that took HoH) and there are much fewer R3+, R6+, etc. groups forming up. Now, you just find a good looking group, join up, and roll, and if the team build is solid, win a few games.
6) Speed of fame acquirement. Yes, this has certainly gotten slower for the TOP HA players, but NO ONE ELSE.
btw, all his bs is simply not true...what do you think now mrdbeau, do you even play in hoh? what's your ign?

Wow it really stays fresh, yet gimmick condition pressure builds are dominating hoh, along with kiting bspike....oh those are not gimmick. and yes I'm wrong, it STAYS very very fresh, for how long? a week?
