Feel free to stop playing, you know. You'll just be replaced by a new crop of players who can and want to adapt to the new environment.
Personally, I love change, no matter what it is. I've never complained about an update before, and I'm not complaining now. Played several rounds last night, had moderate success, even though I'm not usually a Tombs monkey. Fun stuff.

who cares about bspike and iway, any decent team will roll any of these teams in a short amount of time.
All nubs are now gonna move to vimway which is actually much more powerful now that there are only 2 monks... skills like NR and QZ have become far overpowered now that only two monks exist and they are expected to withstand pressure from 3 trappers and 2 warriors with these types of spirts up. HA is going to be invested with Vimmers.

Did a few runs earlier, Vim-Smite-Vim-Bloodspike try out-smite ball-Vim-Vim
And this is during a time close to eu prime, where you hardly face such builds (Or at least balanced is alot more seen)
Every district Ive been in has been ' dual smite lf thumper ' 'Vim lf iway war' etc.
Can't see it getting any better.

Ok, gonna tell you guys why the 8 man HA was better:
8 man HA makes it possible to run high defense builds, where it needed skill to kill somebody (If you're in a balanced team). 3 monks are hard to kill, and especially with another defense character you had a hard time killing, but after all the best team wins (in a balanced vs balanced), sometimes a battle takes 25 minutes, those battles where the best. The feeling after winning such a battle was great.
Now 6v6, 2 monks, 1 kd 1 under warrior pressure, not that hard to kill, quicker battles, easier for the morons to kill.
All the ppl whining about the high defense in 8v8 should learn to play this game, as my guild barely had any problems with killing high defense builds (even if we just had 1 warrior dealing the dmg, which we often had the last few weeks).
Conclusion, 6v6 is a way for noobs to play this game, battles have a higher chance of being the so-called "rock-paper-scissors" battles. Winning becomes greatly dependend on the build you run and the build you're facing.
No fun for me, the 'old' 8v8 required a lot more skill imo.

My guild is part PVE and part PVP

1st of all part PvE and part PvP guilds never work out.
Now,tell me what's stoping those people from playing right now? 8 slots? Tell me please, why is it EASIER for players to win with 6 slots than with 8? You even have 2 monks,it's HARDER for every beginner to play with 2 monks, especially if you're the one monking. Unless you're going to play vimway...

the state of HA since this 6v6 got implemented is sad. things now turned into a free for all fest. for example at the new 3 way broken tower, it doesn't matter who is capping. ppl just gank whoever they happen to see first. the problem is that this 3 way altar map is just the second map ppl go through. it's ovbious it's filled by ppl who don't use their brain too often. anyways i'll give it 1 month for things to settle in. by that time 50% of the player will give up for sure if maps don't change.

take mine for example, i run 2monk backline "all im gona say"
and a smiter with life bond that bonds the monks with only +2regen,
smiter does req SOME skill to use channeling,
16smite 11prot 8insp 3div
air, rof, gardian, aura, fire, bond, channeling, sig
1simple skill with a bit of thinking gives you the edge vs all/most of the "morons" KD wars that you seem to be facing, without losing dmg output.
must i say more?

I'm not saying it's to hard for monks, I'm saying that I love high defense builds, which other ppl seem to dislike because they're morons who can't kill highly defensive builds. In 6v6 you lack the opportunity to be highly defensive. The best unique thing in HA (compared to GvG/HA) was that you can still kill with a highly defensive build (talking about amount of healing here, not about defensive hex builds etc. since they add a lot of dmg as well).
Metagame shifting to pressure is just not my style, that's why I loved HA and disliked GvG/TA, which leaving no reason for me to play this game, so I'm thanking Anet for throwing away my fun.

I'll say i wish they didn't get rid of Burial. Would take out SOME more teams before Broken Tower. 3 ways Broken is really hard to handle tactically overall because the time is so short.
As for ViM... i faced 3 ViMWAY in around 20 games, one was even a guild, and we flawlessed them all. Vimway is a joke to beat except for unorganized PuG rushing in traps, don't say 2 monks can't handle it we have 1 single blight, no RC (we have draw though) and we have no problem at all. Just learn to move / kite, wand interrupt traps, take out the annoying spirits and pick them off one by one. They got no defense at all.
I can't believe people are there saying 'lol look at state of halls it's all Vimway/smite!'. What you expect, that people would've thought and perfected new builds before they even knew map changes? PuG will always find what they can find, you can't expect PuGs to suddenly try to run a new balanced build when no template was layed down that they got from obs, it was never how PuG worked. PuG run the build they know and what they think works.
I faced some top guilds during my runs and guess what they weren't running any gimmicky build.
It's ridiculous to think PuGs would run anything but gimmicks in the first hours of the change... especially since in 8v8 they didn't do it either. I didn't see a good guild run a gimmick build yet...

I'm not playing HA and I won't be playing after the changes either. I guess I'm completely neutral about this. However I can try to guess what the motives and the message of the change.
My opinion is that Anet saw that HA was catering to a particular group of people they did not actually considered as their target audience. It's what is usually called "the power gamers" - the whole reward system for HA is very individual centered (rank, bambi, wolf, tiger etc.) as opposed to, say, the GvG ranking system. The population attracted by HA (compared to ,say, the ones attracted by GvG) shared certain characteristics (talking in general not including everyone - don't shoot me):
- heavy player (playing 10 hours a day , 7 days per week or more)
- more focused on individual performance than on group performance.
- likes to brag (don't we all)
- more likely to act and speak less politely (just go and listen in the HA for 10 minutes compared to a GvG game)
- possibly younger than the GvG one
Basically its the same population other online competitive games target (thinking CS). Yet this is not the declared target population of Anet. Economically speaking, having more people play less is better for them than having few people play more. And you have to admit that HA has become a form of PvP restricted to a small number of people. Getting to play HA at a good level if you're not "inside" the network of ranked players is impossible. Sure, you could try to work your way into this network, but this would require a lot of time (a seriously lacking ressource for many). This has taken HA off the map for new players and people with less playing time, and with the interest for GvG and PvE already going down, it became rapidly an issue.
Also, the supreme form of PvP in Anet's (and many people's) view is GvG. I see this move as an attempt to place HA between TA and GvG in importance, right where Anet intended to. HA has grown way beyond planned, mostly because of the individual reward system.
My personal opinion. Don't shoot. Salut Phasola.

if anyone, lol you should be the one happy about 6v6.. are you kidding me lol
how does it feel to have such a "defensive" build and losing to rspike/bspike
run 1war 1warder 1smiter /w bonds 2monks +1 "maybe fire ele"
with a good war caller and presure"shockwave"/spiking "obs flame"/warder
you'll have all the 30mins matchs you'll ever need in 6v6 <3
and the good thing is.. you wont die, regardless of any build out there
just watchout for degens.
EDIT: actually run a mes /w pain/shatter on spike and div/surge while presureing.

I have never liked PvE, so I have always been in lvoe with tombs. Team Arenas are boring, no skilled environments, and GvGs take time tos et up, get the right players, members, appropiate guests. So that has left me with tombs. I have loved the 8v8 sicne the day i first stepped foot in there. But now it has been taken from me, the only thing which has kept me playing. So now I have said my goodbyes to many close friends I have made over the course of 16 months. One of my friends brough etars to my eyes when she was begging me not to leave, she has had several other close friends quit recently, and now my lost interest becuase of 6v6 has added me to the list of friends gone from guild wars. I would return if it was ever reverted back to 8v8, but I have already lost alot of faith in ANet because of this. One change has not just affected elements of the game, but people's friendships within the game.
Goodbye all, thank you for a year and a half of fun.
GG and love forever,
Yes No Something
