I posted a little while back about starting a new character for pvp. Is it better to use a PVP only character, and start there, or level up a PvE to 20 and use it instead? I mean, if i have the abilities already...

Have a least one pvp player for the flexiblity. No one uses PvE characters anymore except for capping skills.

Use a PvP, that way you can get über1337 armour and weapons w/o having to spend hundreds of k's

+it's more customisable.

Quite honestly, unless you have several million gold to spend, and many hours trading for the stuff you need, PvPs are absolutly the way to go.

In terms of performance PvE chars = PvP chars now. Make a PvE if you know what you're gonna be playing mostly and want that char to look good.

...And PvP warrior weapons look like crap btw...

Everyone knows that pretty people live long. It's the same for pvp! Go pve and make like paris hilton! Honeslty though, if you are really new to teh game, going pve first isn't a terrible intro to the skills but pve chars no longer have ANY strategic benefits.

But only if you can spend masses of money on 15k armour (what's the point of a PvE character with 1.5k?) and loads of perfect weapons, otherwise PvP will always be your best choice.

Make a PvE character to get the early-game skills, then get a PvP and dump the PvE.

Doubt you need to do that anymore. Making a PvP character gives you some skills immediately, faction gained getting through Training and Zaishen should be enough to unlock some decent builds.

Previously, with the ability to armor swap, etc. a PvE character outperformed a PvP character in terms of flexibility. Since the update, PvP characters are on fairly even ground in relation to PvE-prepped characters and they are much less expensive. If you intend to specialize in one class only, use a PvP character while you are "raising" your PvE. There's really no reason to use a PvE unless you care about looking good. Considering I just bought another shield for Maya.....at ~70k....... and my guildie monks all have every 15k armor ever made...... no, we are not vain!! Whatever gave you that idea?!
