I think that the solo idea is the INTENT. Many people (myself included) have wanted a chance to really play as INDIVIDUALS in competative PVP

I don't think that the heroes will be a problem at all. Almost everyone is overlooking the fact that you can only have up to 3 heroes in your party for every 1 player. So even if you have those 3 heroes, henchway teams will be only slightly more powerful, but not even close enough to hold any significant position in the halls.

wow, i didn't expect anet to get so lame. now they are turning pvp into pve. what's the difference from killing some monsters to killing some heroes. and for those saying heroes won't have any significant role, well ur damn wrong. i mean u have all seen the way NPCs time perfect diversions and perfect interrupts. imagine a team of those of 4 heroes and 2 real players calling the spike. the reason current henchies are bad is coz we can't chose their skills and we can't controll them. i'm sad gw is turning into another farming game with NPCs. probly the only form of decent pvp remaining will only be gvg because u need human tactics there. and that untill anet finds a way to mess it up also, which i'm sure they will do.
it almost seems like they're intentionally trying to lose their customers.

The point isn't that they will be overpowered or anything, the point is that they will turn into something like IWAY. Hero teams will run rampant and will farm fame just by beating other hero teams. I know that I play PvP so that I can play against challenging, intelligent other players, not so that I can bash AI. Leave that to PvE.

No because you need 4 guidlies at the least and heros and henchies don't count as guildies.

Do you have fun beating VIMWAY, IWAY, or henchway in HA? No. That's the point. More lame teams (heroesway) = less fun in HA.

3 heroes as SB/Infuse, Bonder, WoH with 1 Starburst Ele, 1 Shock Warrior and 1 Migraine Mesmer = LAME HA build to watch out for when nightfall comes

lol, those interrupt do scare me... better bring uninterruptable things now... (imagine RoF or blessed light get power block)
There are still alot of things hero can't do... for example, there are only 1 hero of each type, which means heroway can only have so many of a certain class. While that, there are some really good skills that AI are unable to tap into, such as blackout.
Now, we just hope those interrupt don't interrupt the blackout either lol. I would probably just get on a necro with ss and mantra of resolve, then have the hero try to interrupt me 4-5 times with it on.

heroes in halls/gvg = me quitting gw.
the abundance of henchways as of right now is bad enough... even if you do slaughter them, it's just... well, not really pvp

Heroes in Halls = free fame for organized teams.
If you get beat by the AI, you'd better go play some more PvE to learn its strengths and weaknesses.

Maybe they will take away the option to add henchmen to your party when heroes are available, making them only appear if someone leaves when inside, etc.

If u can choose what character to get when someone err7 that would be great. But i do not believe Anet will actually make any good changes tho.

I play pvp to play against people... not to farm AI in another area of the game. I won't complain for the free fame, but it will get old when every team you play is hench + 1 player. At least put burial mounds back in if you are going to throw this much free fame at us.

I have no doubt that is their intention, but you can't play competative pvp in a team game as an individual and expect to win.

Take at a look at the name of "Hero's Ascent". It definitely should have a big meaning with heroes...

PvP = Player vs Player not Heroes vs Player..... there should be a serperate arena for playing with your heros like TA/RA. I can imagine the leet infuse and interupt on a hero :|

First of all they arn't turning pvp into pve. They are giving a huge percentage of the guildwars population a chance to get into PvP. There are many out there who have never even tried pvp, due to several reasons. One being that it is nearly impossible for new players now to get a fresh start in the pvp world, and actually have any success in it. The level of compition has gotten so high, it is extremely discouraging for PvEers to get into PvP. I mean, in HA if you are not ranked these days, you are going to have one hell of a time finding a decent group, even though IWAY and other metagame Fame farming builds have deminished the value of rank. When it comes to GvG come one, anyone who is on the ladder knows how tough its getting out there. Even organized experienced teams are struggling to stay in the top 200-300. I think Anet's intention for Heroes in PvP is as I have said, give a broader veriety of players a chance at PvP. These are my thoughts, I could be completely wrong, but I think it is a good thing. I mean, i wouldn't mind being to make 3 custom characters and head into HA with a friend after a long night of GvG without having to really put much effort into standing around finding pugs, or going through my friends list; even if we only win a couple, we still get to go have fun and play a bit. To all of you who say "This is going to ruin Guild wars PvP" or "Heroes in HA=Me leaving Guild Wars." I say, good luck. It doesn't matter how much Anet changes the game, you are not going to find a better PvP online. Oh and about "current henchies being bad" are you nuts? The current henchies rock, have you ever actually played henchway? People take halls with half henchie teams all the time. Once again, my two cents.

look, i don't care about the pve players who apparently can't pvp because ther 'can't get a group'. that is bullshit because heroes ascent WAS the only place were it was harder to get a group. we have random arenas and team renas were u don't need to make the effort to lead a group.
pve ppl that whine so much because they can't get a group in ha don't even deserve to be in 1. when i decided to start playing ha, i was also rank 0 and alone. but guess what?? i WORKED on getting my fame (i'm not one of those old pvp players that got their fame spirit spamming or ranger spiking). little by little any person serious about ranking up, start meeting ppl and making connections. i admit i complained at some points but i didn't go scream on forums and anet to nerf this and that or to make things easier.
the problem is that a lot of ppl are very lazy. they don't wanna work for anything and they expect organised pvp like gvg and ha to be like 'pwning' AI for greens. and they screamed and complained so much that anet listened and gave them what they wanted and ruined a LOT of the pvp experience that this game had.
my problem with heroes is that as a pvp player, i just DON"T enjoy fighing AI. i wanna play against humans. i find 'pwning' AI boring, even if i win. that's the main reason i chose to move on to pvp, because i just don't enjoy whacking brainless things. this stupid change will only make this MASS of lazy pve players ruin all the point of Player Versus Player.
If Anet cared about PvP, they would simply make a new goddamn arena were players, regardless if they're pvp-ers or pve-ers, could fight with their heroes. i just don't get it why they allow those heroes things in tombs and gvg. why not a separate arena??

Partially agreed with Allience. A lot of PvEers can't get into PvP just because they're use to playing a game type which is designed to let you win. Lots of times, they jsut don't want to play something that takes a lot of work to get good at and build up and something which you will probably lose as often or more than you win until you get good.
I don't want to bash AI over the head in PvP, it's called player vs PLAYER for a RED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GOing reason.
BTW, they are making a hero vs hero arena, so why the hell do they need to let heroes into HA and stuff also?
