If your unranked its much harder than before, because of the large amount of heroways. A lot less people are playing HA now.
Most PUGS wil suck anyways, so if you really want to do HA go with a Guild/Friendslist/Alliance group.

I vote for ebay, after the last HA changes many players decided to sold their ranked accounts, so..... Not even heroway or vimway dude could be that clueless.
On topic : group size doesnt matter. If it would be 4v4 groups still be will forming on two basics : friendlist/guild or rank. Thats how it is. Number of players wont change it.
When it comes to number of pugs created. Dwindling number of those can be contributed to two factors -1) 6v6 change which caused many players to leave HA and move to other things ( like gvg - me and my friends for example ) 2) Introduction of heroes - everyone now wants to do it solo.

A decent pug is more or less non-existent nowadays. If you don't have a healthy friends/guild list, you are going to struggle to find a team that will dig in for a decent run. Not impossible to get one, just a lot more unlikely IMO.
Unless the OP's "someone" is pugging with heroes, he is playing a different HA to the one I am at the moment.

Yes it is harder now, I PUG a lot, and quite little with my guild, anyway if I wouldn't whisper ranked team leaders to ask if I could join I'd be doing SF all the time.
