It's my belief that the supportive powers of the Paragon, combined with the reduction of HA team size to six, make it feasible to run a team with only one monk. I've whipped up this build, and while it's by no means perfect, I'd like to know what people think about it's survivability and offensive ability.

The pros, as I see them: the build should be very resistant to condition and hex based pressure, combining active and passive removal with a strong resilient weapon (at 14, it grants +6 regen) and healing from finale of restoration. Energizing Finale is absurd, powering the monk and mesmers as first priority (and they can reap its benefits almost any time just by wanding with Go for the Eyes!), while Lyric of Zeal is a cherry on top for the three most energy hungry builds (the hammer, illusion mes, and blight)- this should provide enough energy to throw prot spirits around left and right.
Offensively, the build kills through disruption instead of brute force. The mesmers have a bit of E denial going on, and can aid on a spike with energy burns. The combination of Barrage and Warmonger's Weapon should give the opposing team a headache, interrupting casters more or less at random (while backed up by distracting shot). The energy from Energizing Finale and Lyric of Zeal should supply the Hammer Warrior with enough energy to use Protector's Strike as IAS, increasing the rate at which you can KD and spike.

The cons: spike damage or effective shutdown. Lack of enchant removal. Energy management is dependent on other players.

This build is a work in progress, and I can't wait to hear your suggestions.

The main problem with this build is that Blackout or Gale (or even Shock) Will Make your monk close to defenseless, and a spike on your monk will kill him (Remember, r-spike uses anthem of guideance)

Lack of hex removal. Remove hex is interupt fodder tbh.

If I were to go with one monk, I'd bring something with more healing power. You have plenty of damage mitigation, but once some trickles through, all you have is Divine Favor and Gift of Health to top people off.

Use heavy blow instead of hammer smash... No point in running this when 2 monks 2 paragons and 2 RaO thumpers are perfectley fine and can hold vs almost all builds.

EDIT - Also it seems very defensive i dont see howd u do vs like normal teams

please explain to me how you have 14 channeling and resto on a mesmer

Use Signet of Illusion so the next spell uses the Illusion attribute (which is 14)
and then cast a Channeling/Restoration spell, I guess.

1 Major problem with 1 monk builds. You still have to deal with knockdown chains and Chocking gas rangers. If you have a knockdown chain on your monk GG. Paragons' Rit's are nice and help but there spells won't keep a monk get preasured by 2 thumpers or warriors. They are goign to cumble.

If you have a 1 monk build you need some direct off monk heals like a e/mo with heal other or something fast and direct like that.
