Gank ele idea.
hi first post, but uh i thought of a build for ganking with an earth elementalist.
E/MO
Earth magic:16 (12+3+1)
Energy storage:12(11+1)
Healing prayers:6
Obsidian Flesh [e]
Silver armor
Glyph of elemental power
Restful breeze
Stoneflesh aura
Armour of earth
Earth attunement
rezsig?(or something else.)
Basically the idea is to enchant with everything, use glyph of elemental power to make them more powerful, stone flesh, armour of earth, and once you get in range of the body guard cast obsidian flesh, and run straight next to the guild lord, cast silver armor. with the 2or 3 archers, 2 knights, bodyguard, and the guildlord, i assume this would do considerable amount of damage. the reason i have encluded restful breeze is if they send someone back with degen, because with how much armor with build has it is basically immune to all damage.
post your comments/suggestion/improvements.

Sliver armor wouldn't be enough to kill the guild lord at any point during the match. A better bet would be to stand next to the bodyguard and kill him off.
One problem though: this character is incredibly bad at everything except ganking a bodyguard. While ganking assassins are usually bad when forced to play 8v8, they're not as useless as this.
More flexibility plz

You're probably better off using Dervish than monk. Mystic Regeneration is quite strong in a build like this, as are some of the other Dervish defensive and cover enchants.
And Sliver Armor is actually plenty of damage to harm the guild lord if you have two archers, two knights, and the GL himself constantly triggering it. It would probably be too much for a flagger's Breeze to handle as well.
As Thom mentioned though, it's extremely one-dimension. If the enemy has a hard counter (like a dom mesmer) your character is effectively useless. I can see some use for it in a metagame that's all about heavy pressure (like the one just after NF came out), but it's too iffy to see serious play in most builds.

What do you do when you're getting attacked while inside the base? Obsidian Flesh makes you slower, so you'll have a bit of trouble getting out. Sliver Armor is pretty short in duration...and the Bodyguard can heal the Guild Lord.

The specifics of the build are horribly problematic here though. Obsidian Flesh doesn't make sense because you want to kill the guild lord ASAP. Kinetic Armor + a spammable is also pretty key for this kind of build.

kinetic armor+stone daggers+sliver armor...This is what I use to farm bosses in pve to get green shields. Probably not ideal for a competitive environment. You should probably go secondary assassin to teleport everywhere. If I had bigger cahones I'd try this in teleway sometime...

An Ele with +armor vs Earth damage, Stone Striker and Stoneflesh Aura only takes non-zero damage from the Lord's Power Shot in the Lord Room. As far as ennemy NPC are concerned, no further damage mitigation is needed, and as pointed out in this thread Bodyguard and GL drop very fast with Sliver Armor + some other damage skills.

/dance.
I think you'll have a problem dealing with anything they send back. Assuming you can kill stuff, at all.

No, you kill the Bodyguard and Guild Lord, the Archers help you for the damage output. But I agree the scope of this build is pretty restrictive. Apart from initial ganking and possibly at the flagstand at VoD with a crowd of ennemy Archers, this build does not have much utility as compared to standard Ninja or Ele.

I'd rather go for some earth ele with Sandstorm and wards. Good ganker, but incredibly useful at 8v8 as well.

u use enchants so change to dervish and take mystic breeze i believe is whats its calle dinstead. take res sig out for stone daggers. i know a build similar to this it can kill everyone in opposingbase in about 10 min. assuming u dun't count taking the time to git there.

So, you expect the other team not to send something back when they see the bodyguard go down?

No, my point was that you only need 3 dedicated skills for this kind of Earth Ele ganker, which leaves room for damage skills, wards, Sandstorm, skills from secondary prof, whatever. So the "specifics" of the build are not as stringent as what implied by the OP build. That's all.

I think there's general agreement that the OP's build is bad. As to whether this kind of ganker can be effective done right, I think it can be in the right meta. Obviously they'll send people back, but what can you send back to deal with a massive armor/damage reduction character dealing steady damage to your guild lord? Sliver Armor stacks up quick, and Breeze from a runner just isn't enough. If you've got some disruptive characters (like dom mesmers) who can interrupt and strip enchantments you're fine. Otherwise you basically need a monk, which sucks.

I haven't seen the new halls, but...TEN MINUTES? /faints
I guess you can do some sort of a Shadow of Haste-Dash ganking ele, but I'm still not convinced. I don't know, something like this?
Sliver Armor
Armor of Earth
Sandstorm
Obsidian Flame
Dash
Shadow of Haste
Stone Daggers
Glyph of Lesser Energy
I don't know, I miss using Heal Party.
Or this?
Silver Armor
Armor of Earth
Glyph of Renewal
Shadow of Haste
Dash
Stone Daggers
Obsidian Flame
Stoneflesh Aura
Lack of E-management is a problem.

Sliver Armor's recharge doesn't help.
