I doubt if anyone is terribly impressed by you flawlessing a bspike even against AZN. If you can say I have never been beat by a bloodspike EVER, then perhaps we would be impressed.
But perhaps scrub is a bit zealous of a term. But maybe, you could be less condemning of what others choose to play. If a build is successfull for you then run it "Play to WIN." If you do not like a build, simply do not run it. No need to flame those that do. If everyone ran "balanced builds," I would not enjoy HA anymore, would you???

I didn't flame anybody for running bspike, I just think running it is lame. I was in a bspiking guild for a while (Sour Patch Kids [sP]), it was a total blast. I never flamed him, I never said he was a bad player for running it, it's just my OPINION that it's lame to play bspike in HA as it gets beaten very easily, and honestly for me, it's not very fun anymore.

I guess calling someone's build lame is not a flame. Sorry for my overstatement.
I am curious, would you rather everyone ran balanced? Perhaps anet should start a new arena that only balanced teams can play ...

The only thing that I hate seeing is henchway. If I see VIM or bspike, I just think it's lame, not really a big deal though. Would be kind of fun if everybody ran balanced ... although there's no real way to determine what IS balanced.

As for what is acceptable? Whatever wins, and has the ability to hold. Ignore people that call builds like this "lame" or "cheap", because they are simply clueless scrubs.

were. Spike is pretty dead now. And blood spike was never all that good, it could just hold really well. The spikes were slow and fairly easy to infuse, and grinding fame with it could take a while.
Then again, the quality of teams in HA has always been fairly poor, so anything works.

I thought MATH was IWAY, not VimWay. Additionally, I'm pretty sure they can play other things. Candy Girl was an excellent water runner when she guested for some random guild I was in, and I played balanced with math during the double fame weekend, and we had a good run, despite getting constantly ganked because their guild name was popping up.
However, let's try to not make this into a iway flame thread, because somehow any post in these forums turns into it for no apparent reason. Good thing You took your guild name out of your personal info syra.

I normally am one to say ViM is nub, but a few days ago I faced a rank 9 ViM and they actually ADRENAL SPIKED with the warriors. I was NOT expecting it whatsoever, but we still won. It does kinda show that not everyone running ViM is nub. It still kind of escapes me WHY they would run it though :s
And tomcruisejr, I notice you've actually REMOVED your MATH tag. You're normally so proud of your IWAY nubbiness...

ofcourse its free fame. It's just annoying to play yet another henchway. If i wanted to farm henchies id be in one of those zaishen arena's. I prefer to play real teams (even though henchway is still better then a whole bunch of real teams)

QFT.
As someone who was fairly well known for IWAYing (meaning I get flamed to death), I'd say about 95%+ of the people that flame me because they lose to my teams. That, or they just flame IWAY to "fit in" and "be cool". One time I was PvEing and then this guy is like "KICK YUNAS HE CAN ONLY C+SPACE LIKE TEH IWAY NUB HE IS!1111". Anyways, I started talking to the guy and turns out he didn't have Heroes Ascent on his map yet... People need a build to hate on it. And like you stated in your first post, since IWAY is gone, people need to find something new to flame. This doesn't just go on in GW too too, look at real life. First it was black people that were the "lowlings", then it was gay people, now its homeless people. 60 Minutes did a thing on this if you want more info o0 but I guess I'm going off topic....
Anyways, as I was saying, like 95%+ of the people just hate it because they lose to it. Honestly, very few people who talk trash to me (and IWAY in general) have actually beaten my teams fairly (ganking 2v1 doesn't count). People blow it off like "oh ya, I'm just tired of facing IWAY thats why I **** and whine about it". Unless you fall into those 5% that can consistently beat IWAY, then fair enough I'll believe that, but otherwise I think its more like "I'm just tired of getting my ass handed to me by IWAY".

You obviously don't know much about gotw. gotw is really based pretty much on two criteria. 1) that you've been around a long time and 2) that you're dedicated. MATH falls under both of those catagories, so I'm failing to see whats wrong with them getting it. In no way is gotw saying that their guild is 1337 or anything... (not to say MATH isn't 1337 either, not going to argue about any of that, I'll leave MATH to fight their own battles).

Not trying to flame you here or anything, but just letting you know that thats really not much of an accomplishment. Seriously, he just runs around the map for as long as he can, spiking maybe once every other minute. Put snares on them, pressure the snared targets. Interupt and infuse and heal the infuser on the rare occasion that they attempt to spike. Actually scratch that part about healing your infuser. You're infuser will be fully healed by natural regen before Azn's next spike lands. What a difficult match... The only time I didn't flawless him (still won though) was because our only character with snares errored, so naturally the running game lasted a hell of a lot longer. After a 30+ min running game, it was like 4am so our interupters weren't consistently interupting and our infuser had nearly fallen asleep on his keyboard. It was on that day that I discovered why B-Spike plays the running game. No, not to avoid pressure or anything like that, simply to make your infuser fall asleep so they might luck out and get some kills.
That being said, let Azn play b-spike. He payed for the game, let him play it how he wants. I will resign if the build only has 1 char with snares and that snare character errors, thus avoiding the frustration of a 30+ min running game.
(not all of that is really related to your quote, I just went off on a rant ~.~)

I believe I gave you some good natured flaming outside the "Closer to The stars" mission when you were on your ranger Yuna. I have never had the luxury of actually playing one of your teams, besides relic run maps, and iway was the king of relic run maps.
We can flame shit all day, but what it comes down to is outplaying your opponent, or at the very least outbuilding them.
I agree with the point yuna tried to make about iway players being the scapegoat of the gw community. You have to hate on something, so why not be the builds that are easy to pug?
I've never Iwayed myself, because beyond the obvious groups they're all pretty terrible to be honest. You can see a huge difference between the quality of a r6+pug iway, and the MATH Iways and Yuna's teams. I'll shit on a lot of Iway teams because they're bad, but if they run the build well, that speaks to the quality of the players.

Yuna, you might play PvE well, but I've played with a MATH member in PvE ... the guy liked to tank more than the warrior. Maybe not ALL iwayers over-extend as necros and expect to be at full health, but this guy did... (yes, it was the real MATH, he flashed his phoenix).

If that was flaming then natures renewal isn't fat. In other words it wasn't flaming

Hm. I'm not really saying MATH or IWAYers are good at PvE, although some of them are. My point is that a lot of the IWAY hate is really just because people need something to hate on. In the example I provided, the guy had not yet seen me PvE (we ended up getting masters reward with no struggles what so ever), hadn't even seen me PvP, heck he didn't seem to know what Heroes Ascent was, yet he just trash talked me for IWAYing because people need something to blame on. See my other post for more details...

Yea, I gotcha, just pointing something out. Honesty I have no problems with IWAY as a build, I know a few people who iwayed their r9, and at most I'll tease them about it. I agree that a lot of people who hate IWAY just need something to hate ... but then again I AM a hater
