IWAY is back
I think gvg is becoming a big HA field. Saw a bunch of guild doing IWAY builds with no monks, including top 10 guilds.

wtf kind game are you playing? first of all, after the 6v6 nerf, guilds rarely played iway. now to say that theres a bunch of guilds playing it, i think that you should lay off the brownies. (the special ones)

This is what happens when teams that can't deal with pressure make it to the top 50. Energizing Finale has been a free ride against any kind of pressure team, and its allowed teams to get away with bringing no warrior hate or significant pressure defense other than the one paragon.
Like most "pressure above all else" builds, I doubt this will be more than a passing fad.

Savios Ist Pizza Holen [BRB] and Team Illuminaughty [NauT] (I think) have both run IWAY builds. I watched [BRB] use it in around a half-a-dozen matches (I personally didn't see any losses), using four warriors, a ranger, two paragons, and a dervish/necromancer with Order of the Vampire. [NauT]'s build was slightly different in one of the matches I saw, using two dervishes and only three warriors. Oh, and [BRB] was rank 3-5 when they played it several times that I saw, and are currently still very highly ranked. The OP is correct. Check Observer mode and you may catch a few.

IWAY is back even better than before... Hehe... Funny how top ranked guilds will degrade them self by using IWAY

A large number of the top guilds at the moment got there by running spike. It's not like you have to run a balanced build to be top-ranked. You just have to run a balanced build to be good at the game.
The concept of "degrading yourself" by running a particular build is stupid.

I think that like any build, in the hands of good players its strong, and in the hands of poor players its weak. I PUG'd last night with this build and it was OK, nothing spectacular, good fun though

We faced [NauT] tonight. dp the paragons = gg. we have a vid of us rolling it in 8 minutes. its honestly not that difficult because without the paragons, the dmg and protection is so subpar, that shield of absorb owns it with prot spirit.
Like bloodspike, thumpsmite, this new iway, etc... its a champ point farming build. take out their only defense/healing and it cant sustain itself.

I've seen [BRB] Running IWAY too, saw them beat Ghostly Heroes and [Cow].
They gave a nice spin on the IWAY build though, using W/R's carrrying a Steady Stance + Desperation- & Drunken Blow + "Fear Me" combo.
I'm not saying they thought of it, just that they're using it.
It's a Great combo IMO, I'm using something like it myself in RA for fun, without IWAY ofcourse.

PnH, RenO, SpNv all lost to iway in under 5 mins.
With the current para nerfs iway only became stronger. They should have dealt with it 1 year ago when it first appeared. Shame nobody bothered to look at tombs.

IWAY is like Cher, It will never die. Is GVG going to turn into ward camping and 3 monk backlines like HA did?

OMG Iway, kill it! kill it now! jk i cant say im a fan of iway but i do wish there was a little more creativity in party builds especially in teh higher ranked people but meh, as long as its not totally used overkill again they can keep doing it, Iway aint so tough.

Although for us it wasn't even all that fun...it's only fun when the enemy sits in your fearme spam and dies. When they start splitting, or training/snaring your flagger, etc. it's just painful, especially when playing in a PUG. Naut took out a warrior for a cripshot, which would be a decent remedy though it sacrifices pressure.

Take a necro or necro secondary and you'll shut down IWAY more efficiently.

To be honest, I thought the build would be stronger with monks and a proper runner. Orders didnt seem to add much and the paragons are really pretty weak imo. Add a death necro and pet rezzes and you basically have thumper spam with massive edenial which would be stronger in just about every way imo

that sounds like fun patro. A lot more fun. although then you lose QZ on the fire map, which is another big part of the pressure.
