We've only got two mesmers, but yeah, they were pretty key in the match against you guys. Diverting Searing Flames was kind of nice, but one of the biggest things was exploiting your solo monk - Gale and Diversion during spikes get much more effective when there's only one target, so we were able to spike out your offense pretty freely and prevent you from doing a whole lot of damage.
The other varient on your build that I've faced is SNA's, which uses all E/As with Dark Escape and Feigned Neutrality to make them harder to spike out. They used Frozen Isle as their home map so we just ran them around and ganked their base, but I think it would have been a much harder fight if we'd faced them on Jade Isle like we did you guys. I'm not sure if the defense of /A or the offense or Arcane Echo+Arcane Mimicry is scarier in 8v8, but they both seem pretty good.

Thank you JR, you have completed everyone's efforts of making Accutane's attempt to shame us fail.
All in all, I'm just glad I could be part of something that changed at least one skill on every character's bar who dreamt of going into gvg this weekend. Your options get a lot smaller when you think you need either a E or Me primary or secondary class to save yourself from SF.

I think the fact that you didn't have your core on and just took some guys from your alliance might have something to do with it, because the official ladder says The Spearmen have gained 375 rank over the past 4 days

Where did the spearmen go after the entirity of BC went kapow? I enjoyed being in the Spearmen Alliance, and wish I had been on to play with them.

Original rank and opponent choice will affect that quite a lot though. The build becomes much much more difficult to beat on Jade or Nomad's Isle, and when you're low ranked you'll get a lot of fights on your home map.

<3 to JR and everyone else who has defended us. It's a sad day when a trusted and well liked guildie completely flies off the handle without warning like what has happened here.
To Accutane: I am sorry it has come to this. You knew full well the type of builds we roll with for farming weekends. I wish we had gotten a chance to talk about this and part ways amicably before you silently got to the point of publically raging on us. We are a reasonable bunch of people, I only wish you had talked to us when you started having a problem. Many of us were very fond of you, myself included, and we are feeling a bit shaken and betrayed by this display. It feels like getting punched in the face with a brick by a good friend whom you never even knew was mad at you. Blind-sided.
Our objective was to farm and have fun. We decided before this weekend that to try and play competitively in this EWIS event would be an exercise in frustration. So we took our silliest, most fun HA build and modded it for GvG.
Considering our objectives, I think we succeeded pretty well. Guildies who played this weekend UAX'd. I UAX'd on saturday and I'm pretty happy about that.
Again, thanks for the support everyone, we look forward to seeing you all in game!

Well all I can say is that my guild was rank 108 before this "double champ point" weekend, and now we are in the 300 range, because of searing flames groups, I admit we should've easily beat those guilds.
But it probably doesn't help that on vent during GvG I basically was playing the Rocket Power theme song, lol.
I still <3 Spearmen though, so its all good.

And on this slightly mixed note, I believe the thread is done.
