Default more hint is needed for altar maps

Anet has made a short little video thing to show player the rules for each map, and apparently nobody watch them i guess since time and time again i've been ganked by some random team while i'm not holding. Most of the time it happens like this : 3 teams, let say we are red, blue goes in and cap, we waited for a bit, we go in put our ghostly up the altar, yellow comes in didnt hit the blue team once and go straight to us for no reason (not like we've been trash talking at all). This happens every single day, after it happened twice last nigth in hoh, i realise more is needed to be done. I suggest the followings:-

i) a green exclamation mark on team members on the holding team (or at least their ghostly hero);
ii) if a player is about to enter hoh and if he/she is lower than r6 a screenshot of hoh battle will be shown and a he/she will have to point out which team is the holding team (like a quest box pop up and they have to choose red/blue/yellow), if the answer is wrong send them back to UW;

iii) make the holding team's character 3 times as big and "c-space" will only select the holding team.

and guess what? 90% of those teams that have no idea what they r doing are heroways. (Those guys shouldn't be doing PvP in the first place, burn heroway to hell!!)

ok i understand that some of the suggestions are piss-taking, but please at least an exclamation mark on the holding team's hero. which should help since some of those heroway players will think they can get a quest from that ghost and will keep clicking him until the quest box comes up.

yesterday i saw yellow attack red (we were blue) before anyone capped, we capped and yellow and red ended up slaughtering each other, was fun to watch ^^ happened 2 runs in a row

tbh, i dont think Anet is gonna make changes just to point out which team is holding an altar... All they have to do is look ffs, and that radar thingie in the top right corner is there for a reason...

ganking teams full or arrogant 12 year olds is probably the only fun thing in HA atm.

In HoH the Blue team is holding the alter at the start, After that the giant flags in HOH and other maps a pretty big give away. I mean if giant colour co-ordinated flags not enough nothing will be. If the game was dumbed down to the point where c space goes on holding team because people cant tell who is holding it would be very sad. (Almost as sad as these teams making to HoH in the first place.)

Yeh, GG. That was me on the yellow team when red randomly came over to slaughter us (which they didn't accomplish..) before even running out to the ramp at center altar. Confused = me..... @_@ GG Heroway.

Instead of it saying "Enemy captured alter", just change it to "Red/Blue/Yellow captured alter".

i just usually go for the weakest teams on an alter map or the team running the most commonly used build(sf). and the other team thinks theyve got their cap in the bag and then i finish the team thats capped. i very very much dislike alter maps and winning them usually depends on luck of a boring stratagey of waiting til the times near and hoping you survive the 3 way battle. stronger builds+vulgar display of power ftw

I know exactly how you feel. I've been kicked out of halls so many times without ever capping because the team on the other side has crap for brains. How hard is it to guess who has the altar based on the color of the flags in front of your face?

Maybe they should add a mission goals or something to HoH for the people who haven't played it, then add an IQ limit for the random morons who are too stupid to put two things together in their heads.

Mission Objectives:
Capture and maintain the altar. The team with the altar at the end of the match wins. The team holding the altar will have their color and/or guild emblem on the flags around the altar.

I think its also annoying when you have idiots that wait till 1 minute is left the throw everything they have at the ghost despite the fact that he has seed, prot spirit, and spirit bond, sometimes even more.

Why is that annoying, 1 Gaze and boom you have a dead ghostly =x
Or is it annoying that they throw it at him and your Ghostly is fine and you win the map?

ok this is not a post against heroway really (even though they responsible for 80% of the problem). I think having the pve quest green exclamation mark on the holding team's ghostly hero is a possible solution.

hmm, first off there may be a reason some people are getting ganked:

1) Trash talking. This has got to be the biggest ganked reason ever. I admit I've ganked a few teams who aren't holding the alter because they talked enough trash. I realize topic creator said they didn't trash talk but this may be reason for others getting ganked.

2) Because you're running a lame, gimmick and/or FotM. I've been ganked so many times back when running IWAY. Best part is then giving them a taste of their own medicine next time you face them. They don't seem to like it and start throwing hissy fits. Gotta love it So ya if you run lame, gimmick or fotm build, OR you have previously ganked lame, gimmick or fotm builds, don't be suprised if you get ganked...

3) Its not personal, but the two teams are friends/guildies/alliance. I've seen this happen so many times and had it happen to me a few times when I tombed. The holding team is friends/guildies/alliance with the other team. The other team who are a bunch of tools (IMO), go and attack your team to assist their friends/guildies/alliance and you get screwed over...

4) They're just a heroway who is screwing around or just plain stupid. This is a big problem now cuz anyone, heck even my grandma, could grab 3 heroes 2 hench, vs another hench team and then skip to hoh. Then because HA is such a joke now they go screw around and attack the wrong team or they have never played HA before and don't know what to do. Sure thats a problem and your ideas like green arrow on the holding ghostly would help but a better idea would be to remove heroes from HA or atleast limit it to 50% hero/hench max.

Ya that kinda sucks but your'e definately a lot better off then having the other team attack you. At least their forcing the other team's monks to burn some energy on the ghost which makes it easier for your team to outpressure their monks. Yes I know it'd be better if they put pressure too but its not like you're completely screwed over (were as if the your not holding and the other non-holding team ganks you...)

I always thought blue holds altar in HoH. My team was yellow when we got to HoH, it was blue when we started out holding. :S

You can check the damn flags whos holding. Just look up on the alter geez. There are "three"flags (i think) up the alter. If the color is is blue, blue has the alter.

I mean comeone it isnt that hard. About 12 years olds even when its saying "blue has captured the alter" those litle kiddies still gonna press c space. Butt i agree i think it should say wich team has it.

there are allot off tactics how to hold alter. Just watch obs and think about it. Besides i don`t care about ha anymore i only play it when i feel like it (win or lose).

Don't you people know the basic number 1 rule in HA??
Kill the highest ranked team first !

Actually had a guy pm'ing me this when i asked him why he felt the need of ganking us:
'Im not stupid, everyone knows you have to kill the highest rank team first, otherwise you will never win'
