Default The ugly side of Guilds

2 week ago I joined a guild. It was ranked ~ 1200.
I played with the guild 5 games and we won 4 out of the 5, the one we lost was to a guild ranked 300. Our win loose was 9-8 after that, so I can conclude I was doing good for the guild. Then the guild came with a build that demanded max coordination. A build that may be very good if run by top guild, but not us. We ran it and lost. There were lots of reasons for our fail game (I will not go into them here).
As a result I was kicked out of the guild, no question asked no explanation.
Just someone, I do not know who to date, pushed the kick button, and I'm out.
This is an ugly example of ppl.

So? I got kicked out of guilds several times... Sometimes I deserved, sometimes the guild was dead anyways, and the last time, I was a bit inactive...

thats a bit harsh... people in guild today are a bit picky... i would never kick anyone from my guild unless 1.they had been offline for like 2-3months or 2.they were causing trouble.i dont see why people are so picky nowadays cause everyone has a guild theres not as many new people to recruit so its a battle to get the guild full of people and yet people are still randomly kicking people.

anyway gl finding a GOOD guild

Its pretty ridiculous that they kick you for losing a GvG. After all, they used a new build. Do they really think that a team gets it right from the first time regarding tactics and stuff?

I think that whoever kicked me was enraged and just did it to release steam

Did it occur to you that you may have been kicked for playing badly?

Just throwing that one out there as a possibility.

Whether that is true or not, we won't know, but either the person who kicked you really was an ass, or he sincerely thought you were playing badly. Still, I find it strange. If he really thought you were bad, I think he would've said something about it. Furthermore, if he was a good guild leader or officer, he should be able to keep his calm (to a certain degree) regardless of how bad you did, and from what I can tell, he just kicked you without saying a word... that's a bit. Hm. Rage kick?

If that's so, I think you're lucky not to get more rage from the officer/leader who kicked you. However, it's still a bit...ludicrous.

The thing is, we all did bad.
I was blind half the time (while asking for remove) => monking is not right.
The support chars were not noticable. No pressure on the other team.
The caller did not call as agreed, he forgot the countdown.
The runner did not cry for help as agreed => he & npc gone.
I did not follow calls on time (was second W spike).
The instructions before the fight were not good.

There was not a single aspect that worked as it should. Yet kicking someone without any talk (after he palyed with you for several weeks), just push the button, is something that is beyond rude.

p.s that was my first gvg fight as a W ever.

Umm... I hope you didn't actually voice most of these opinions on your first day. As a guild leader, if someone sucked, I tend to just silently move them over to the "PvE Division" of the guild. They, of course, don't know this, but if they figure it out they can always leave. However, I have kicked members who were new and very opinionated or just don't play nice with the other guildies(I had someone who went certifiably crazy on us during the gvg). Anyhow, unless your build was not relying on the warriors to do much, expecting monks to be blindbot babysitting is generally wrong. Unless the build you are using or fighting can reliably save them from spending the energy on other things, your statement about the monks is very wrong and could get your kicked from a guild(some guilds are protective of their monks you know... not mine). Whenver trying out for the guild, if people seem very unhappy with how things are going, the new guy is always an easy target to blame, so I would expect it if I were in your position... Either way, getting the boot form a guild in a video game isn't really an examply of ugly people. It's still a game, and the point is to have fun. Now go find people who you can enjoy as the people who kicked you probably weren't going to anyhow.

Getting kicked from a rank 1200 isn't that crushing, even if it was a bit blunt.

Builds that rely heavily on warriors need to run draw on support or have some reliable way to shut down the bsurge. If the monks have to spend all of their time and energy pulling blinds off the warriors, something about your build or your players is wrong.

If it was your first GvG fight as a warrior, there is a chance that you did a lot of things wrong that you probably didn't know to look for, therefore making you seem like a complete idiot in the eyes of your guild leader. The fact that your guild slotted you as the warrior in a *new* build when you had never played warrior before leads me to believe that your guild leader either didn't know that you had never played warrior before, or that he was lead to believe that you could do a good job anyway. I don't know anyone who would slot a player in a spot they had never played before, in a build that had never been run before, and expect stellar performance.

War is probably the hardest prof to play properly (unless you Shadow Prison spike or IWAY that is). Sure rank 1200 isn't much of a deal, but don't go into GvG playing things you've never played before (esp monk, war, mes).

When you play a role, always make sure it's a role you're comfortable with, especially in a new guild. If you jump in to play something you've never played before in rated GvG, you're pretty much putting your head under a guillotine. Focus on what you're best at and refuse to play a role you have no clue about. There's nothing more enraging than a recruit on tryout that step in to play a specific role, be crappy at it and then say afterward that he's never played that before. That's pretty much an automatic kick-out in many guilds.

And never forget that most-important rule: Never blame your monk or opps, he'll forget to infuse you!

I got kicked from a guild before because I did not put malaise on the foe's wars. I was using malaise but the degen did not show indicating the war was at 0 energy. So I put it on the monks.

After a few seconds when I spread it to the monks we would break their defenses. It was like that in most games. I would always hex the wars first because the guild leader wanted it (like it does anything to a war to begin with....pppfff) then I would place it on the monks.

Because he saw me cast it on a monk I was kicked after a battle. A few minutes later the leader asked me to come back to the guild. I basicly cursed everyone out except 2 people and logged.

I don't have time for guild drama and plenty of guilds are recruiting. Just move on and don't let it get to you. If you cannot find a guild to your liking make your own.

Yes but if someone plays badly do you just kick them, no explanation, no second chance? I think most people would at least have the decency to say "Look mate you're just not good enough. Good luck finding a new guild..."

Also rank 1000+ isn't exactly pro is it?

Even for a good guild a dramatic change in build may result in a loss or two to get used to it and back on track.

But on the bright side if they jsut kicked you no reason etc then they were probably a bunch of idiots anyway
