Ok, yes it has to do with Anet's servers but my question is.... why only on relic run maps? I understand that the more maneuverability (spelling?) and such the higher your risk of triggering this rubber band type lag, but It happens to me like once every 1-3 droks runs, an area where you're going to be body blocked and stuff a lot. It happens to me at least 3+ times on unholy temples, and maybe it's cause I'm not usually running the relic, but I've only encountered it a handful of times on sacred.

This rubber banding happens the most when I am carrying the relic. It's just ridiculously bad. It can easily mean the difference between a win and a loss. If Anet can't fix rubberbanding they shouldn't have maps such as relic runs that are filled with rubberbanding.
Don't get me wrong, I love relic runs, but it can sometimes be determined by who rubberbands back to the bridge when they thought they were going to cap and who ends up capping without rubberbanding.

Gotta agree with you there...if they can't fix the rubberbanding, they need to drop relic maps entirely. I wish they would either completely drop the map, or completely re-design it so that you need like 4-5 people to do a body block instead of 1 person at a corner.

4-5 people of your 6 man team? I don't think so. Every spot (excluding 1 spot in sacred.. well 2 spots, 1 on each side) requires 2 or more people to block it, which is perfectly fine IMO. The problem is the rubberbanding, which means you can be blocked by 1 person pretty much anywhere. If there was no rubberbanding, you could simply walk around these 1 man blocks.

This has needed a fix for awhile, however people have been playing through it for quite some time already. I'm sure it'll get fixed EVENTUALLY, but what I would guess is that. Anet sees that there has been a problem for awhile now, and people are just playing through it. It'll be like the /stuck option, where it's part of the strat to play with/through it. Eventually they will fix it, but I HIGHLY doubt it will be any time soon.

The reason you don't see it as much in PvE, and especially in runs such as the Drok one is because the servers only need to handle your movement, the trolls and other mobs being handled on the server. However, in a HA relic run situation, the servers need to coordinate a lot more players.
This issue has always existed, however it has become very bad since NF came out. My educated guess is that they removed a forced resyncing of everyone in a game with the server at a certain X time interval in order to accomodate more players and a third continent without having to beef up the hardware too much. If such a forced resync would still be in place, then every X secounds you would be taken back to where you actually are, which does not seem to be the case atm unless X > 30 secs. Either that or there is a bug on the servers that handle movement and colision, because the servers that handle skill sorting and interpretation, damage, HP and energy never seem to lag.

its not new thing... i probably first noticed it during relic runs back when 6v6 started out. Collision with other objects on your screen shows that you made it past but type in /stuck and you are back where u started. It is very annoying when you run you just have to keep typing this.

Yeah, this has been around for a while, these are somethings I have found that can counter it:
1) Occasionally tap your Res Siggy, it should warp you back to where you are if this bug is happening to you.
2) Use the mouse to move when running relics, as mentioned the WASD controls are a little screwed with the ANet servers, Mouse movements are registed on the Guild Wars server? while WASD is registered on the Guild Wars client.
Thanks,
Program~

Or use any skill. A stance. Rof. A pet attack. It'll warp you to your actual position (as determined by the server)

You must use a skill with an activation time. Using a stance will not warp you to where you really are.

it's not just relic runs? it just requires that you getting bodyblocked..
I've had it happen in gvg running flags, I've had it in pve getting stuck on terrain, I've had it in pve getting stuck on an NPC, on relic runs in HA.. just being bodyblocked in general [while using WASD or autorun]

This bug has always been there imho, and will always be there when you try to ghost("virtualize") a players movements/actions with the servers game state simulation. I think that recently(few months?) something was changed that allowed you to go way out of sync. Maybe some kind of subtle packet shaping to reduce network bandwidth that causes the duration of the warping to be increased due to the lack of resync for x seconds.
Last night I was so warped, I really had no idea where I was, and /stuck and clicking skills wasn't snapping me back for some reason. Literally seconds from capping the third relic and things went bonkers and no one capped for another 4 mins, since the person I handed off too got warped too. It's really embarassing when you get a decent r9+ group and you can't help but look incompetent getting bodyblocked so easily and the other team didn't even have a ward against foes.
I think we need a new command specific to these kinds of server/client issues where clearly we are bodyblocked on the server, but our client has us clear on the other side of the map. Maybe a /sync command to get us back in step with the server side state machine.

Guild wars hit 3 million accounts, meaning around half a million people are playing at any given time. Servers are three times as cluttered as they used to be.

There already is a command, it's called "use a skill with an activation time."

But using a skill is just something we figured out. I don't think they should leave it on that. It's an obvious flaw and should be fixed somehow. It's like you're missing a key on your keyboard and you put small plastic piece instead of it and you say it's fixed.

Well I was a Rampage ranger and so I'm clicking it every 20 secs or so.
I read the previous comments, did you read mine?
Here look at this part of my last post, "and /stuck and clicking skills wasn't snapping me back for some reason".

Need a fix please.

No, you're right, it's not lag. It's some sort of bug that I first noticed when they introduced the /stuck command. It happens in all parts of the game, not just PvP or Relic Runs. Funny thing is though you're team can still see you're bodyblocked so the "bug" is just occuring on your PC.
