Just wanted to share my trick with FA.
I usually go into FA and see if I recognize any leechers. Wait until they go into the game and after they've entered I hit Enter Game.
It usually results in 90% of the games without leechers because the leechers are all in the game. Doesn't stop the problem, it's a bit self-fish, but it lets me play FA.
If I meet any new leechers, I'll add their name to friends list, so I can see when they're online and when they aren't.
Oh and if I have time I'll report them. One leecher I reported, I think got banned because he's never online anymore. He did keep pinging the screen when he was leeching, which was very annoying and I think that could have been the reason why he was banned.

They often wind up in the same game, because they're largely auto-join bots. Which is probably why they're really getting banned. :P

i quit playing FA because of the leechers, which was a shame because i really liked playing there i swear there's always the same 5-6 leechers around, and i've reported them many times but anet apparently does nothing. i pop in every now and then to see if they're still there, and sure enough...they are. i know i'm not the only person reporting them either. last time i tried to play at FA, i was on a 6 leech team, and so was the opposing luxon party lol gg FA
i could see why they'd be hesitant to ban these people...but honestly, the majority of them are botting and that is clearly against the rules. but the botters are no worse than those who sit there and actually talk while they leech. those ones make me so mad just banning them from FA, JQ, and AB would do the trick, imo.

From what I have read in previous posts, so long as they are in front of the PC when using the bots then it's "okay".
Just for fun sometimes I create a semi-naked black warrior and position myself behind one of the leechers (in the waiting area) and start dancing. It's hilarious. Pick an appropriate name with the words "love" and "butt", select your lucky title and you won't stop laughing. Sometimes the leechers have moved away meaning they aren't totally afk, maybe they are at work or school?
This will probably get my post deleted but I've been thinking of starting to use a bot program just to try it out and learn new things. And so long as I'm in front of my PC it's fine. A.Net pretty much promote the use of bots by allowing such a blatant example of their usage in front of many, many players.
EDIT:
Dragged this up from the net which people may find interesting.

I was thinking perhaps you need to move so much, and so far to get faction. Doing nothing gets your no faction = no point in leechers.

FA used to be worth leeching, however it really isn't any more. Before, when 10k in kurz faction actualy meant the translation of 3-5k worth of amber, it was a lucrative action. Now, however, the prices have dropped due to the release of nightfall. I've been reported several times, or so im told, for leeching in FA, but it doesn't matter. The grey areas in the eula I don't think are even grey enough to ban leechers. Th one reason why you dont see that guy online anymore is probably because a) he has a new acct, b) he didn't randomize delays on whatever script he used for anti idling, or c) he used a program that utitlized .dll injection in guild wars (thats a big no no for anti detect. injected files stick out like a sore thumb). In short, don't get angry about leechers, we don't care what you think, just learn to play, or around them.
edit: if you wanted to try botting, i use this a scripting language that is really easy to learn and is more versatile than nub ass ghost mouse. you can find it here: http://www.autoitscript.com/autoit3/

Quick reality check: When people have all of the effort they put into what is an extremely addictive game deleted, they can go to extreme measures to have it undone. Almost all of it involves one of two paths:
1. Threatening the company in some way.
2. Trying to prove that they weren't actually botting.
The latter path usually involves making some ridiculous Rube Goldberg-style claim where everything they were doing fits. Usually this means claiming that their 4-year-old kid who only knows how to push 6 buttons on the keyboard and just likes to "kill things" was doing it. Which is about as plausible at this point as saying "my dog ate my homework."
In this case, someone decided to substitute "G15" for "4-year-old kid."
A LOT of false-positive checks are done for cheating bans. Pretty much any MMO developer will never ban for cheating until they're 100% sure. Now, how plausible do you think it is that someone was sitting at their computer, with the screen off, relentlessly pressing the same key for the entire length of a movie? Try it. I guarantee you'll get tired after 5 minutes.
There is no proof either way, so assume the simpler of the two possibilities, which is that Infernix is LYING in an attempt to get his account back.
Regardless, even if he WAS telling the truth, they'd have to ban him anyway. MMO developers can NOT allow one excuse to be a silver bullet to get an account back after botting. People have threatened suicide to get their account back, and they WILL NOT cooperate, because they know that as soon as they do, it'll spring up all over all of the cheat boards. "Were you banned for hacking? Just tell them you used a G15!"
I hate to make a rant about something like this, but seeing that link get posted infuriates me because it shows just how gullible people are. No one ever questions the truth of what they're reading, and I can tell you after trying a similarly-stupid stunt after getting banned for running 9 Kore bots in RO that he's almost definitely lying, but no one even entertains that possibility. Only "OMGZ NO, Blizzard banned someone for using G15 macros, soon they'll be banning for using Alt-tab!!!"

1. While playing Guild Wars, you must respect the rights of others and their rights to play and enjoy the game. To this end, you may not defraud, harass, threaten, or cause distress and/or unwanted attention to other players.
Joining the game with no intention of playing is pretty easy to qualify as "causing distress."
Oh yeah, and...
22. You may not use any third-party program (such as a "bot") in order to automate gameplay functions, including playing, chatting, interacting, or gathering gold or items within Guild Wars.

I think that some of the leechers actually chat on the Guild channel while leeching.
There is this one person who is always leeching on the Kurzick side and later on another member from his guild started showing up and leeching too. Normally leechers are off-line because they get abused by other players (a leecher told me that when he decided to play one day). One day I noticed the one who started leeching later was not off line so I started chatting with him ( I like doing that with scammers too just to catch them off guard). At the end of it he asked if I wanted to join his guild and I said nah I don't join leech guilds, and put him on my ignore list.
I was in FA at the time, and soon after a match started. The guy who was a long time leech was there in the battle and the funny thing was that as soon as the match began, he started mouthing off about my character and getting generally pissed off. Yeah it was amusing that this assumed afk pro-leech started mouthing off soon after I called out his guild as a leech guild to one of his leecher guildies. So he was more likely than not chatting on the guild channel or doing other stuff while leeching and pressing the Enter button when it came up, ie not afk or using a third party program at that time.
I think one way to deal with leechers is to just make a note of their guild and (politely) ask their guildies to get them to stop doing it. Doesn't always work as I tried it on the leecher's guild above a while back but no go. It's kinda amusing too to note their guilds as I see ppl from the another leecher guild post here on these forums, and I always quietly snicker to myself when I see their posts. But ah well, that's life and the wonderful world of online gaming I suppose.

As i said, the grey areas of the eula. causing distress can be laweryed around so many different ways I don't even think Anet knows what they tried to say. Yeah, I know, I've read the EULA, don't use third party programs, blah, blah, blah. No reason to ruin a good thing.

I think one of the leechers got banned for using a thirdparty program. Haven't seen them for a while and when I tried re-adding them to my ignore list it said the name did not exist.
They were pretty obviously using a third party program though. Normally the leechers end up stuck against a wall from continually clicking the same point all of the time. But this player would sometimes spawn at a point where they would continually move in a pattern. It was kinda amusing watching them move around in a metronomic manner for a long period of time.

This is getting on my nerves. I love to play in aspenwood, and this is ruining it for me. And Anet couldn't care less. There are incredibly simple ways they could completely fix this. There is no way you can say that 'leeching isn't a problem'. It affects the economy - not as much now that the prices of amber and jade have fallen but still. And isnt who owns the outposts decided by faction? Not to mention, it ruins the game for those of us stuck with leechers, the same leechers, game after game after game.
I can't believe the idiots on here who admitted to leeching. I guess there are people in the world who are proud to be scumbags but it still surprises me to see it.

Hopefully A.Net will put the LFG system into FA. That'll help people weed out the major leechers. FA would be great fun with more organised teams rather than random. 15 minutes matches are great and the attack and counter attacks when you get experienced or evenly matched teams is pretty fun.

Leecher sucks, but leecher hurts more on kurzicks side then luxon side. There was one time there was 5 leecher on our luxon team, it was just me(monk) and another monk and a ele. So we decided just to do one push and if it fails we quit. Lol it turns out the other team also have 3 leechers and no monk or bonder, so with the 8 luxon warrior and 2 turtle we finished the match with in 5 min. Its sad that those F%$#$ leechers got 650 faction, but because those luxon warrior wont afk , luxon leecher will hurt a bit less than kurzick leechers

Hmmm I was wrong about the player getting banned as I see they're back and still botting. Implementing the Party system in FA would really help wth the hardcore leechers/botters who are in there almost 24x7.
The majority of players who hang around FA know who they are.

Here's my suggestion for dealing with leechers:
Don't kick them, that makes it just as bad as they were there (your team is still down a player), and doesn't really penalize them.
Here's what I propose:
Leechers should get -1000 in the respective faction AND for Balth Faction. To top it all off, they can indefinitely accumulate negative faction that they'll have to work off. That will completely destroy leechers. If you want to punish them, it has to be where it hurts.
What's a leecher's purpose? To get faction for doing nothing.
Now, do you think they'll try it again when to their surprise they have -20,000 balthazar and luxon or kurzick faction points after they leave the game to leech, only coming back to hit enter when it ends? Now, instead of getting faction for nothing, they have a huge debt that they have to "repay" in order to even begin gaining faction points again. Now, leeching will have the opposite effect that these leechers desire - and being the kind of people they are, they'll most likely just disappear from Aspenwood altogether.
Now, you may say "well they'll just run around without actually doing anything to avoid the leech penalty." Sure, a very select few may do this, but remember that a leecher is lazy. They want to hit enter, and walk away to do something else while they gain faction - forcing them to be active when that's what they were trying to avoid in the first place will make them give up leeching.
Kicking them won't help that much. They could still sit there and accumalate some Balth and Lux or Kurz faction before the team kicks them out - this way they get to stay, but to their dismay instead of gaining faction they'll be paying it out in huge chunks.

You not only have Leachers as problems now. Just last night I was trying to get 10000 Kurzick faction so my monk could get past the Kurzick side of the map, but of course there two idiots who sabotaged the games. They set up as rangers and planned a bunch of spirits that would help the luxons. EoE, NR, Quicksand, ect. Not to mention they opened all the gates for the luxons.

Quicksand actually harms the Luxons more. They spend more time alive, and as such, get depleted by Quicksand while the Kurzicks get repeatedly wiped out and respawned at full health/energy.
The worst spirit cocktail is: Predatory season, quickening zephyr, nature's renewal, tranquility, primal echoes.
