[Official Report] Mid-event Updates
After the first full day of testing across the regions and around the world, we’d like to give you some updates on how things are going.
Regarding Skill Changes:
First of all, we rolled out a minor update today, and because our Web Teams are not on duty, here are the notes for you:
Skill Changes- Ritualist
- Destructive was Glaive: Changed the Armor penetration to 5%.
- Monk
- Divert Hexes: reduced cast time to 1 second.
That was the sum total, so please don’t be alarmed or look for other changes. (I know how you guys do that sometimes. ) FYI: Destructive was Glaive was changed because there was a bug in the amount of damage it was doing. In order to get strong and more accurate feedback on Ritualist spell changes during the weekend, it was changed for the time being.
Everyone on the design team is really grateful for all the feedback, and we ask that you keep it coming. After the weekend, we will make more tweaks to the update before it goes live permanently.
Please continue to post your analyses in this forum, and for ease of collection, you are more than welcome to post in the most "bullet point" form in this thread.

Thank you. 5% AP seems pretty low to me, but I am happy to know that the bug is fixed and that DH is back in game.

I don;t understand your rationale behind the Destructive Was Glaive nerf. Yes, it was bugged. It didn't do the intended 25% Armor Penetration. Yet, why did you change it back to 5% Armor Penetration without letting people test it at the intended level?

yeah i agree, the feedback would have been more accurate if it was tested at its intended percentage.

It was the decision of those most actively involved in skill balancing during this weekend that the reversion was the best choice. They felt strongly enough about it to include it in a two-skill "emergency build." I am sure that this skill will be included in future testing, so no decision has or will be made based on the bug and no move forward will be made based on less-than-complete testing.
Further, no skill works in a vacuum, right? Leaving the skill "as is" could have negatively impacted test results and conclusions made about a host of other skills and builds. So reversion seems, to me, to have been a logical choice.

"In order to get strong and more accurate feedback on Ritualist spell changes during the weekend, it was changed for the time being."
Does this mean that Anet intends to change DwG back to 25% at some point?
I hope so.

I bet it'll change, yes. To 25%? Hmmmm.... maybe. It'll rest with the team to see how it fits with other outcomes of the weekend, but looking at the fact it was intended to go out at 25%, I'd say there's at least a possibility it will!

So the update will be reverted, tweaked and then permanently reapplied? Might as well keep the update and tweak it "live" like you just did imo. It sure beats the old meta, no matter how much tweaking is needed.

Last time I checked, it was actually at ~40% before the update. Now it's actually 5~10%. 20-25% is resonable; anything less than 15% or 20% is pretty much useless, IMO.

Well if their final intention was to test out the Minimum effectiveness of Glaive by chaing it to 5% (because the bug would have ended up showing maximum results), I suppose that's fine.
Its just that... testing such things can be done in your head, you don't need to test it with the community, knowing full well what the response is going to be. But then again, with both the maximum and minimum, you would get the average *cough*25%*cough* :P.
But then again, everyone was playing DwG, and none of the other skills were getting their just attention... so *sits down with arms folded* ^^.

Glaive was rediculous damage. Quite funny in aw but definitely needed changing.
2 seconds for dh made the skill on par with convert hexes.

Divert Hexes is just like Restore conditions but for hexes. I feel that the condition removal should be removed and the healing bonus applied to all hexes removed. The hex removal should be capped at 3.

I agree too that Divert was powerful but the nerf was a nerf. The deal of it is too big - remove hexes, conds, heals...almost no other hex removal do all those that good (and remember there is one very doubtful skill which is also elite...currently non-usable). I also think condition removal of the hex removal must be removed.

I'm just hoping the wait between the end of this event and the real update isn't very long. I, too, don't understand why they don't just leave it alone and update on the fly.
5% seems a little... low. I'm not really sure, I haven't tested it yet, but I too wonder why we weren't able to see how the updated skill was really supposed to work at 25%.
