As for KD I was thinking of running a mes/rt with psychic instability, wailing weapon, warmonger weapon (and 2 melle) for split gank group. and a mes/ele with psychic instablity, blackout, grasping earth, diversion, power return, lightening javelin, speed boost (with 2 monks + mel dervish with speed boost and grasp + axe warrior) as center - flag group.

Read the description of water trident more carefully:

so the conclusion is that it is conditional, and on top of that an elite, but then maybe i didnt understand u were in sarcasm mode?

Maybe you should actually GvG and check the updated skill description while you're at it.

This was the updated skill description, or maybe wiki fails at it? I don't see where u wanna go, also in the game this is stated as the description. I don't GvG, i do however PvP albeit it is at low level and probably noobish according your taste. But then that does not make me an illiterate, nor does it prevent me to see whats going on in observer mode. Never seen too much water trident in high level GvG. But hey, maybe i just look at the wrong games?
DOn't behave so cheaply to put people down by their activities, it does not correlate to reading skill descriptions and the fact remains that Ice spear is an elite, and is conditional. People move a lot in GvG/PvP, but still that does not mean that ice spear is superior to gale, anyway you could even miss due kiting behavior.

(I'm assuming you meant Water Trident not that waste of bits, Ice Spear.)
Now kids lets not fight about it. Yue and Pat are both right. Water Trident is certainly a viable KD skill now that they made fixed the arc. And yes it is an elite so you need to consider what you're giving up. But arguing that Trident is hands down better or worse than Gale is claiming that my oranges are tastier than your apples.
And we can all agree that I've got some pretty nice oranges.

Water Trident got a buff 4 days ago, which might be the reason why you haven't seen it much before. It's certainly a viable elite now. The conditional is hardly conditional on casters, who will be kiting a lot of the time. You can't interrupt spells with it (like Gale can), but it's most exellent as a snaring KD.

Yes i ment water trident ofcourse, thx for the correction. I agree to what u are saying if people are moving it is a good spell as the buff included a 25% in speed, the flight time is still pretty long as i understand (it should fire and miss like a long bow with medium arc?), and more importantly it can be blocked by spells, or stances. I do not know this from experience but as it is a projectile it should be blockable according game mechanics. Though I'm not sure on it, cause there seems to be a slight differentiation between projectile attacks, and projectile spells.
I bet it is annoying, but I don't think its a viable alternative compared to the versatility of Gale. KD time is the same for now. If people start bringing in this spell a lot and spam it without regard, i will guess they counter it in many ways, diversion spamming, spiking on those targets, humility, whatever. Gale will remain less "predictable" in when they are gonna use it. Bottomline is that i dont wanna fight about it with Yue, but he/she should read the descriptions and realize that it has a few drawbacks as well, and that it is not comparable to gale (which has drawbacks as well).
Thomas I also agree to your reasoning.
EDIT: Ater reading it again i think projectile spells are not affected by blocking mechanicsor by hexes and the like. It was only concerning magical projectiles fired from wands and staves, but im not sure on the stuff.

Projectile spells like lightning orb and trident are NOT blocked by stances and such. Projectile attacks like arrows and stave attacks ARE.
Also, the most popular trident abuse is on a me/e. Fast cast trident: cheap, spammable, and accurate. Can pretty much force a boost by itself.
