Screw the updates to HA(which I like, minus murderball), screw the skill balance. 8v8 is what I care about.

same here but I'm not gonna lie, I'm impressed with skill balance (only scanned through it though, will look at it in more depth later).

They nailed a lot of the skills that they overbuffed the previous time -- blades of steel, mantra of recovery, power leak, price of pride, depravity, destructive was glaive, etc.
Overall, there are few things on the skill balance that stand out to me:
Gale: 2 second knockdown. I think that the energy cost should have been lowered to 5 with this change, but it'll require testing to know for sure.
Avatar of Grenth: increased Energy cost to 15. A-net is still completely ignoring the problem here.
Wearying Strike: Increased recharge time to 4 seconds. A step in the right direction, but should be an 8 second recharge IMO.

Poor gale. :'(
Wild blow: 8 sec recharge now..meh. Doesnt do much and not the reason AoG is/was overpowered, but I expected Anet to change it anyway.
Price of Failure: This skill gets plently of use..don't really understand the buff. :/ Still balanced afaik.
Jagged Bones: 15 sec recharge apparently. At least they did something in this case.
Critical Chop: This seemed overnerfed and no change was made..15 sec recharge with the mediocre damage makes it useless.

Not going into skill balace ( they still are unnable to see the problem with avatars though ), but I'm happy about 8v8 "test" weekend. Let show them that we really DO want that for good, and fill up the districs, and guru HA section with support posts. I know we're be playing 24/7 then :P

QFT.
From what I've read about the balance I like it so far, and these are really the only two exceptions. I'll miss gale a lot. 2 seconds? Please.
But on to the more important issue, I pointed out in another thread that until AoG, enchant removal usually carried some kind of penalty for non-mesmers--i.e. health sacrifice, poisoning yourself, and so on. That was balanced enough in my opinion, but a free license to remove enchantments every 5-10 seconds without any penalty to the user is nothing short of ridiculous. Even with the wild blow recharge increase you're still guaranteed to remove an enchantment every eight freaking seconds. Either make a handful of enchantments that can't be removed prematurely (if you want to be more gay about it) or build in a reasonable penalty to removing enchantments with AoG. Or something. I don't care.

Hey. Be fair and participative with BOTH weekends. I want to see thorough feedback from the HA experts in this Forum. (I learn a lot from them here).
Some people I've seen in these threads [not the person I quoted] claim that ANet won't admit their "mistake". So I hope these same people approach these test weekends with the exact same humility that they expect, casting pride aside, and remain unbiased.

Time to see a butt load of spike builds.
It'll be interesting to see how it plays out with murderball and the new win conditions, 8v8+murderball sounds great.

The vital weapon buff is something to consider in the 8 man arena, spikes shouldnt be too hot, especially with the new objectives.
The changes this weekend were all pretty good, grenth i think is still too long, soul reaping from spirits is also still a threat in 8v8, apart from those 2 small issues this is the first solid update in HA for a while, i think the 8v8 change next weekend should be great fun.

I don't see why they changed gale, it was fine the way it is.
And IMO, if they're going to take one of the most used forms of pressure in the game (Thumpers) and change it up at least let them stay viable.
All in all though, I liked the balance. Assasins are seeing a lot more play.

Things are progressing reasonably well (in my opinion) towards even more reasonable, solid arguments for 8v8. They're giving us more to do--which I think is good--but we need bigger teams to get it all done!

Same here...
I really don't like the kill count system (I will rant in the feedback section later :P) but I'm very happy that we got an 8v8 weekend :]

Yay 8v8 weekend! But seriously i logged on on friday and the current chanegs to HA suck so i raged GW again currently all Anet seemt o be doing is creating more problems rather than jsut giving us what the majority wants by the seems of it, however ill come on for the 8v8 weekend since Anet have been dragging the "we will maybe bring 8v8 back" thing for about 6 months now and its finally time to see whether they do or do not bring it back. As for skill balances all good except Gale didnt need a nerf imo and Avatars needed different changes.
