I wish Anet would add a "search" feature for HA similar to the one in PvE.

Because what Anet has done is againt the majority and that is clear due to the current state of HA after changes have been made. People whine because if we didnt nothing would ever get changed, its as simple as that. Also i dislike 6 vs 6. It brings only highly defensive builds because there is no room for damage. Only spikes with overpowered skills are in HA now. You dont win if you go balanced.

And for that person saying: ZOMG OMG SoMW, Jagged Bones or IWAY returns in 8 vs 8.
SoMW: NR, Primal Echoes, Interupt on SoMW (come on its 2 secs), E drain, Gaze of contempt, Rend Enchant. Ill stop here.

Jagged: Knock out elite, Price of Pride, Diversion, Pressure the MM, Verata's Gaze, Verata's Aura, Unnatural Sig all the spirits + minions

IWAY: dont make me laugh. Last IWAY if seen had a mesmer etc. Its nearly balance but very easy to beat. Basic Wards, kitting, Aegis Chain, Blind Wars, wand the trappers, a good LoD monk can easily handle the "pressure"

Play smart. I never complaind about iway.

Just play a decent Balance build, most people like it better. I dont mind losing to a decent balance team after a good battle.
Only thing i ask from Anet, give some new maps not a compleet different HA with this new system... I live with 6 vs 6 but this kill count junk is crap.

So called elitism does not go away with 6v6, r9s still wanna play with r9+s which is why elitism does not even exist, people just want to play with people of a simmillar skill level. Also I am not denying that it takes longer to form a group when it is 8v8 but, you do not have to be r9+ to have a big friends list, your friends list is down to your social skills, a r1 can have just as many friends as a r12, the size of your friends list does not depend on what rank you are. All you need to do is go out and pug and build up a friends list and if you cannot be bothered to do that please quit the game. I you respond to this with all low ranked teams suck so I do not wanna pug you have not understood the concept of pvp. If you wanna do well you have to play in craps teams and lose a hell of a lot to gain expirience and learn how to play well. No one came into this game knowing how to win, it is a skill built up over time.

And I never said you have to be rank9 or any rank to get into a team. I said assembling an 8 person group is a lot more tedious than assembeling a 6 person group. Elitism comes from the idea that guilds that are active and have players gaming 24/7 will have an edge over people who have limited time to play and didnt find a good guild.

I can see how that would be realistic in real life, but in a game it wouldnt hurt to give everyone equal opportunities regardless of rank, guild or experience.

Why should anyone have an equal opportunity in GW without putting in effort? I don't remember reading that in the handbook. As for not having friends or a good guild... maybe try to find some? Also, last I noticed this is a cooperative game, so there is no excuse for you to not have friends to cooperate with. If you don't want to find friends go buy Elder Scrolls: Oblivion. Also, you can find pugs.

I remember buying the game because it was based on player skill and not endless and mindless grinding to get to level 5,331. Well, I was making a simple comparison.
The point I am trying to prove is that if you want to be part of HA, which is supposed to be a high-end arena, you have to make a minimal effort. It's like saying you want to play for your country in the world cup without making any effort to train, play with clubs, and get your name known.
No-one cares if you are not in a active guild, HA is a pug arena after all, and noone is forcing you to stay in a PvP inactive guild.
The thing is, I am not saying that you will never ever be part of HA, what I am saying is that you should make an effort, make friends, learn to play, and you will find yourself being asked to play in no time.
Fighting for equality is bull crap. Everyone is equal and you are fighting for something that already exists. Everyone has the chance to make an effort and start playing. Those that do generally succeed, and those that don't generally fail and end up nagging about "inequality".

No. First lets start off by getting an exact quote from the box. Heres what it says on the original Guild Wars (prophecies) box. I consider myself a noob to HA (only 41 fame) but the most fun i had was back in the 8v8 days making friends and learning to play. I dont find it fun at all to have everything handed to you, because that just takes all the feeling of accomplishment away. Thats why i pretty much stopped playing HA when it was changed to 6v6.

Noob teams/players are good for HA... if a new player enjoy's HA they'll have some incentive to get better. Some players are going to stay bad and still play occasionally, which is fine but some to these players are working on their rank/skill and will be the next generation of solid PvPer. The problem with HA wasn't only that a whole bunch of good players left, it was that it was easier to learn to pvp through GvG or TA or even alliance battles.

Personally I feel it was heroway, not 6v6 which killed the PuG. I don't know if 8v8 will help rebuild the PuG population. What I do know, is that it is stupid to only consider what is best for highly competitive players when it is new players which keep the game alive and fresh.

Using the "in with the new, out with the old" approach is stupid too. You're right though, ANet needs to consider the noobs AND the highly competitive players. Hopefully the new map changes + 8v8 will do this...

both 6v6 and 8v8 are flawed.
6v6= lame holding builds and lameness, with some suck
8v8= horrible chaoticness, no strategy, takes 10 years to get as group.

HA is something i never really tried because i never had the patience. GvG for me.
