You probably faced said EoE bomb after they changed it.
I won't ask you to take my word for it if you really don't want to, but I've been HAing for about a year now and I'm here to say that yes, EoE used to work exactly as described above.

na. no one ran pure eoe bomb team when it was changed to "must dmg 90% hped people only".
you also need to know that every game update ,there were glitches to skills, EoE included. (i.e. do you remember when EoE was bugged after update?)
i'm been playing with build(s) that need EoE since idk. or maybe leteci is correct.
but this is fact, EoE was nerfed because no one bothered to kill it.

The worst part about IWAY is most of the people who only played it are awful players. I've played with most of MATH post iway and it is a joke how unorganized it was. Maat is pretty much the reason any of you won a gvg after they made Iway unretarded.
Eoe was retarded when the losing team could place it at the last moment and edge the winning team out of prizes. That was retarded.

good players with non retarded builds losing to awfully bad players playing iway is like a person getting pooped at by a bird in a sky. it's a pure gold scene.
and yea, Maat led the guild to unthinkable victories with IWAY after GvG iway was nerfed. waiting for VoD and splits, using IWAY. how revolutionary was that?

I'd suggest that's being a bad player.

Yes, there are some "elite" ha players that are bad at the game. However, there are also some very good players who can play multiple balanced rolls well, who I've also held off with IWAY . If it helps, I've held off some top GvG guilds too....
Honest question, Tiruyi, who do YOU think is good HA players? Anyone? Or does everyone suck at this game? (except maybe yourself...)

WHen talking about the efectivenes of IWAY, most of you guys fail to take into account the individual skill it takes to play a Warrior well (if you don't believe me press B and watch some good guilds...) So there was a wide variance in the effectiveness of different IWAY teams.
Back in the day ... IWAY set the standard for pressure builds ... and pretty much the following were true:
* A bad iway team would easily beat a bad 'regular' team
* A decent iway team would draw with a decent 'regular' team ... the winner was usually determined by the amount of warrior-hate the 'regular' team brought
* A very good iway team would beat almost everyone ..but would get easily beaten by a very good 'regular' team
IWAY also had some other features that really made it work:
* it was effective without voice communication ... which is a entry barrier to many
* predefined roles meant that group formation was fast and easy ... don't underrate this one...
* predefined roles also meant that everyone knew what to do ... and had practiced it enough times that they could be reasonably effective at it.
Of course, Nightfall has changed everything:
* Warriors no longer set the bar for pressure ... Dervishes, Elementalists, and even Assassins all can outclass Warror in pressure under the right circumstances
* Monk skills and damage mitigation skills have greatly increased to accomodate this new pressure (think LoD, ZB, HB, Divert Hexes, paragon buffs, etc, all better than old-style monk bars) ... a team of iway warriors is still dangerous but not nearly as dangerous as it used to be ... backlines can handle it.
So, IWAY now can't apply pressure the way it used to ... and with little spiking ability it has virtually no chance at a killcount map (unless it gets a very favorable draw) ... ipso facto ... IWAY is dead...
gg

Wouldn't that mean if someone is slightly better than everyone that he would be the best player?
No, what I wanted to say is that you can't determine who's the best player in a team game.

To be the best at something you have to measure it to some thing to make it achieveable therefore technically the person with the most: fame, blathzar fraction, money, glad points, charchters would be the best?
But anyway we are getting of topic
IWAY is fun and easy to play so i can whatch tv and do my school work in between instead of having to concentrate about what im doing ^^

Stop talking about a build that don't work anymore.Tiyuri, you are smarter than to engage into endless bickering that will no longer work anymore.Whether the build was functional then...its no longer important. The same people who played it well together are not playing it together anymore (now & future).Scout, thanks for memories...but let it stay as memories.

sometimes it's the IWAY haters who keep digging the grave. when the ghosts haunt them again, things gonna get messy.
you guys should talk about the current shit build that is plaguing HA - spike builds.
Lock this thread and make a new thread entitled "Spike Builds In HA - The New IWAY"

Leteci and Roark are correct. I used to play an Aegis / Heal Party / SB / Infuse / Power Drain / Drain Enchant monk (long time ago) and against IWAY teams I would sit in the back outside of NR range to put up Aegis and spam heal party. I'd creep up at times to drain a pain or apostasy order from a warrior, but then I'd fall back again and let the other two monks use channeling to do their protting and healing.
In this type of play I very rarely had Edge showing on my effects monitor, but would still see damage from Edge even when I wasn't in range of it. I remember thinking often...this is retarded....
The teams I led back in March-May 2006 when I was the leader of There Is No Cow Level [cow] always used builds of my design which featured 2 heal parties and 2 aegis. The dual heal parties really helped against IWAY pressure, EoE pressure, and pressure teams in general.
IWAY was just never the same though after A-net fixed the increased attack speed bug with tiger's fury and IWAY stacking by placing a cap on IAS at 33%
Ah, those were the days. Building a balanced team you knew exactly what you wanted to meta against, IWAY and blood spike, so it made for easy build making.

Agreed. I don't think there is a "best" player either, however the question I asked Tiruyi, was who he thought was a GOOD player.

Thank you. Most people fail to realize this and say that IWAY is just "c-space". Ever notice how 4-5 skills (evis, exec, d-blow, sig, and in some cases, sprint) on an IWAY warrior's bar are the same as a shock warrior (a warrior that takes 10000000 times more skill to play than an IWAY warrior, according to most). That and theres just a general ability to play warrior. Be it a shock war, IWAY war, or even ****ing around as a mending wammo, how you play can make a big difference on how effective you are for the team.
