Still, you're right. 8V8 HA is very different than 8V8 GvG. completely different format. completely different goals, builds, and strategies. And what I was trying to say is that for 8 players, I prefer to play GvG, and I believe it's better. Period.
6v6 HA is actually interesting to me and something to do besides GvG, but whenever I feel like playing in such a large, organized group, I've found GvG to be much more stimulating and fun than HA was. I will admit, though, that I played very little HA when it was 8V8. Maybe I just missed what was fun about it cause I didn't play it long enough.
All of this, mind you, is personal opinion. This isn't something I can really argue logically for or against. I guess that kinda makes all my posting fairly pointless though, as the the majority of opinion is obviously showing the opposite preference.

Thats why a lot of GvG'ers voted for 6 v 6. So they can have something to do while waiting for a few more people from a core team to come on, they dont care that much about the gameplay, just get some fame. After all, HA is supposed to be the 2nd-highest PvP type after GvG.
Why your "want 8 v 8? Go GvG" argument is stupid is because GvG is NOT always available, but you can HA anytime. I myself prefer doing GvG over HA (I think everyone does), but I do HA a lot more than GvG. Not enough Guildies/Friends list on? Guess what? You cant GvG. But you can go get a PuG in HA, or start a group by yourself or a few other people.
I bet the majority (75% of the people, at the very least) of the 6 v 6 voters either
a) have never even played 8 v 8 HA, or didnt play enough to have a non-biased opinion.
b) are GvG'ers who want something to do when not enough online for GvG
c) dont even play HA at all, or havent for a really long time, just voted 6 v 6 to screw with the poll
d) think that 6 v 6 means that you can get a group faster, even though thats completely false since there are much less people in HA
e) all of the above

Not everyone sees HA as someplace to go when you cant HA. describing it as 2nd place to gvg so therefore not important lets cut away 2 character slots annoys the hell out of me.
Since nightfall is just out why not make all of Tyrai and Cantha 6v6 since there not as important anymore.
Some people liked HA and played HA with no attention to GvG until anet nerfed HA. They are two very different types of game and should be seen as such. Everyone who liked HA always knew that GvG took piroity in things like why skills were balanced and when. Most people accepted this and were ok with it. However taking 2 player slots out the team was a slap to HA saying its slightly better than ABs (and thats only sometimes).

I was going to make an ad-rem remark about how chasing charr in ascalon is far more interesting than HA at the moment but then Tea Girl already did that

though i like 6v6 as it requires less people which get's my game on sooner(which i totally love, dont get me wrong), i still enjoyed the 8v8 more. A sense of more balence/more counter's could be brought in an 8v8 setting as apposed to a 6v6 setting which made the experience much more skillfull, intense and overall, gave me more fun factor and more of an inherent reward of pvp skillfullness (sp?) that i felt could lend a hand more to my gvg games (the 6v6 just doesn't seem to lend a hand/help your gvg game as much) and personally, gvg is what count's most for me.

i vote 8v8
I started ha when it was 6v6 and thought it was great, but now that I got to try 8v8 during the test weekend (and after the gimmicks died down) I can't imagine playing 6v6.
