Leaving GW for a while, Here is my PVP wishlist.
Hi all,
I have to stop playing GW for about 2-3 months due to some computer issues It is annoying but what can one do.
Well since I am coming back in a wee while here is a list of things that I think should be solved by the time I come back. Some of these are obvious and some less so.
1. Ritualists. Spike needs fixing, especially Lamentation. Once this is done I think the whole class needs to be fixed even to the reworking of half the skills. While I dont think that will happen in two months at least fixing the spikiness of the channeling line will be eneogh.
2. Shadow Prison, Blades of steel. Some other threads are quite clear on the problem with these skills, but the whole Idea that you can put 3+ sins in a build and each pick a number and gaurantee at least one kill is a bit silly.
Lead attack chains need buffing and maybe a prohibition of using more than one dual attack in a time period needs to be considered.
Suggestion Dual Attack,..desc... cannot use another dual attack for 10 seconds.
This would solve the autokill selected target problem. I personally think sins should not be able to use two dual attacks in a short while on one target. Horns of the ox would have to be reworked or maybe Impale would become used in this case. Impale could then follow any attack if it was necessary to keep the strength of this combo.
3. Soul reaping. Please fix.
Suggestion Gain 1-3 pips of energy regen when something dies and 1 pip energy when a spirit dies - this I think would still give them a few pips at high soul reaping but It wouldnt be badly broken, At least the attribute has a few skills now.
4. Discord. Nuff said, 2 second recharge lol. Make it at least 10 seconds or nerf the damage.
Other than skills.
1. HA needs to know what ANETS perma decision is. I am for 8v8 because the game is balanced around 64 skills.
The only thing I do feel strongly about are killcounts, I dont think that those objectives should be anything other than 1v1. Spike is encouraged way too much by this.
When I come back I would like to see a variety of pressure builds spike and balanced to flavour HA with once more.
2. Someone needs to spend a lot of time educating GWONLINE on what sucks and what doesn't. The very fact that these forums are the most popular forums for this game is a bad thing. People on those forums hold the game back and lower the quality of play. People go to those forums and come away with ideas like Rits can replace prot monks in a backline or that healing prayers is a good attribute line or that life transfer is good.

I do like all of the suggestions. I am surprised Channeling skills have not been nerfed already. The soul reaping suggestion seems to be the best one so far. As far as the assassins go, I think another suggestion would be to just change the skill "Burst of Aggression". Obviously assassins cannot put points in strength so make it last like 1 or 2 secs at 0 strength. Anyways, it would be nice if something like this was actually implemented, but I have my doubts.

Well said about gwonline. Your thread has a "farewell" quality to it, but you also state you're coming back. We (GWG) specifically don't allow farewell threads, but this one is a little unclearly cut so I'll let other mods decide if this thread should be closed or merged into another thread.

Personally i think it's a very bad idea.
You only consider SP sins, which could be nerfed in other ways, and totally ignore other sin builds that DO exist.
Take the current Moebius-DB build, one of the few pressure sin build that's good. Well it'd become unusable. Moebius itself would become absolutely pointless. And take Shattering Assault, now you can use it every 4s with lead-offhands, well you couldn't anymore.
It just destroys every potential sin build in order to fix one overpowered setup. In other words, just no, very bad idea.

I agree with the sin changes. You could give them just 1-1 daggers and they'd still be too strong in what they're currently able to do.
Other than that. 2-3 months for a computer problem? Do you live in Kongo? Unemployed? It might not matter but I find it odd to be honest.

The dual chaining and discord nerfs are horrendously bad. Your balance suggestions have about as much subtlety as a sledgehammer, we don't need more ether renewal type "fixes" thanks.

1. it is self-selecting. anyone that wants to learn more will look in other places besides / then GWOnline. Or in other words: it is only partly a problem. people that want to learn will find the information anyway.
2. with all respects to GWOnline, I don't think many players are willing to 'spend a lot of time educating GWOnline' as you stated.
3. Every fansite has its own segment of the playermarket. GWOnline has quite a few pve players. the only problem is that they also claim or try to be knowledgeble in the pvp section. And at that point, they have failed epicly a couple of times. I don't think you should try to try to change the entire population of a fansite. Its more realistic for the management of the fansite to realise what its readerpopulation consists of, and to focus on that.
Or in other words: It is my personal humble opinion that GWOnline should focus on one thing and stop to try to do everything and do a so-so job at that.

Why bother? Have you been on there lately? The pop-up ads are some of the most brutal I've come across.
