The whole argument about HA players being few and number and therefore uninteresting from a business standpoint is weak. Sure, you should aim to please the majority of your customers if you cannot please all at the same time. But they can.
They could flick HA back to 8v8 in an instant and have the special-sauce Lucky Minibeagle weekend event at the same time. It's not an exclusive or to cater to both HAers and PvE'ers. The demands of the HAers can be met cheaply and without any negative impact on the majority of the other customers.
It's a bad idea to ignore even a relatively small part of your customer base. Keep doing that and soon you'll be pleasing only 80% of the remaining 80%, and then... etc.

When the person in charge of Community Relations for ArenaNet doesn't give a flying cowpat about PvP, why do you expect communication?

The sad truth:

To get pve'ers to buy new chapters, Anet must develop an entire new world with hundreds of new item/armor skins, tons of quests, new items to buy/farm, titles to grind for (since level cap increase is out of the question). The devs have to do all this because there are so many other competing mmo's on the market

To get pvp'ers to buy new chapters, all Anet has to do is add a couple overpowered skills that pvp'ers have to get in order to stay competitive.

That's why most of the new chapter content is pve, with very little of it pvp. No other mmo has a pvp system like GW, and personally, I love it. However, the current lack of insightful attention to the pvp metagame (especially HA) has made me lose faith in a game that originally claimed it was "built for competition." Now it's all about keeping pve'ers from going to WoW, since the pvp community is so easily seduced into buying chapters.

Well they sort of made efforts, with Alliance Battles in Factions and Hero Battles in NF, but yeah it's certainly not a step up from the existing forms. At this point I think it may be asking a lot of pvp'ers to purchase yet another chapter if there's nothing relevant in terms of content, other than new skills. I was hoping they'd just go for a GW2 after NF, but who knows maybe they'll pull a decent expansion out of the bag this time...

Whole problem is, is they put themselves in a lose lose situation. PVpers where not threatening to quit if HA was not changed. So why change it? They play for pve not pvp so how would they make the most out of pvp areas aka tombs than pvpers. Also to be honest with you i think anet had alot of pottential to basically tear wow to shreads with guildwars. Because what gw has which wow clearly doesnt is good or shall i say was good pvp. So if i were running guildwars, to be honest what i would have done is yes worked alot on pve asspect. But also alot on the HA asspect making new stuff making it more competative making it better. In doing so youve basically taken what all games like wow ect dont have and exploited it. And thats what will bring in loads of customers. I think this move would have been wiser than actually going full on pve really and trying to compete with companys with wow, would be much less competition. Also makes your game original doesnt it, and thats what players are looking for, originality. But anyways as i said anet dont care about my advice though it is sound but ye this was just a thought.

One thing i do what to know however from anet, a special request may i ask. Did you number of GW players decline quite alot when you added 6v6. If possible can i have some figures of by how much. An JR what you said about the community relations person. I thought it was because she was scared, thats what nurse with wound said didnt she? Shes not willing to sow what she reaped. She sowed annoyance and loss of pacients into the HA community with anet. She mite as well come back and recieve her harvest

Listen Anet has finacial goals and incentives, wanting everything for free is just not an option. Adding IMBA skills is not what they want (I guess) adding skills that allow more diversity Would be. U should still remember that Anet has continual costs for running servers and so PvP or PvE customers should contribute a donation in some form to allow Anet to maintain the servers and employ people.

One problem in the game is that IMBA skills affect the PvP metagame, but you should here the PvE community complain about nerfing there builds. So the two communities appear to have different needs. PvP resolves around balance. Many people like PvE to resolve around steamrolling monsters that act like target dummies, give tons of loot and unique items. But if anet nurf skills, the pve community still have many other skills they can get away with which HA players cant. So really for pve its like they can have 500 roots. But they like 1 root best because its easiest. So if anet nurf skills even though they do complain. Its not gonna acutal cause a hold up ect or problems like it would in HA. Where if they dont nurf a skill basically HA = everyone running basically same thing.

First off, I am not asking for free stuff... not sure where you got that impression. Are you suggested I should pay for skill balance? Additionally, I am aware of the fact that ArenaNet has servers to maintain; that's why we had a trilogy instead of just 1 game with new features being implemented every so often (with the exception of FoW). Simple mathematics reveals that, if one were to pay $50 every 6 months for a new GW chapter, it is only about $6-8 cheaper to play WoW every month (because WoW is the standard by which we judge all MMOs ); therefore, NCSoft is making plenty of money off of the GW franchise, not only because GW costs almost as much as WoW, but because GW servers are much cheaper to maintain, since we get instanced areas instead of wide, open worlds.

so we know that Anet has taken far to long to sort anything out about ha or in general any pvp problems. While pve has its problems as well more attention goes there as many people have said the pve community is far larger and therefore brings in more money over time with people buying the chapters.

However the game itself does seem to be pretty solid and was amazing when it was running well.

However the pvp players need to think. Do I trust Anet enough to buy another one of there products in the future based on pvp experience of guild wars?

well because of this to be honest i think the answer is no for say 95 percent of the experianced HAers who loved 8v8. I see no point to be honest in paying cash for something when i am having second thoughts about the future of HA.

I know I for one will not be buying anything from Anet again. The PvP had potential but they lack in community relations. GW2 is rumoured to be even more PvE but I found GW's PvE extremely bland. I have been playing WoW (let the flames begin) and I think the game is amazing. I encourage others to try out the WoW 10 day trial and upon purchasing the full version you can keep your original characters.

What is the sense of investing your time in HA 6v6 if you don't enjoy it? Stop beating a dead horse and move on because Anet is just sitting back pointing and laughing at you.
