Is it me or is Aspenwood(Kurzick) becoming a headache?
Almost no one ever runs the amber as they all try to fight. We got the stupid bug where you can get multiple groups of warriors per turtle(As if 4 wasn't annoying enough). Turtles can almost kill you in one hit and you can't outrun them if you become a target. The Luxons get two turtles and now they almost always have a bonder on them making anything short of a concentrated attack useless. If the green gate goes you are toast because then you only need one enemy to keep the gatekeepers from accepting the amber.
And on top of all that you get these jerks who try to leach off of you and others who drop out so dang early in the match.
It isn't very much fun any more. I have been doing it less and less just because of the bugs and people who play it. It is possible to win, but just the nonsense that goes on is getting on my nerves.

The randomness of these PVE/PVP missions really has a big effect. A half decent luxon team can usually win fort, but half decent kurzick usually loses due to the other 4 idiots. Jade quarry is a joke since no one plays it.

-.- That is my #1 pet peeve with FA at the moment.
Radik: "Oh, no! A Luxon is staring at me! I could not possibly accept the amber you're holding so we can get the gate back up!"
Me: "Asdfsdasfsdafsdadfgg!!111!"

Yeah, that hurts. I'm a Distortion-running Mesmer, so I can usually survive those four Warrior NPCs if I run away very, very fast and hope they get bored and find someone else to pick on.

hehe. Exactly what I am talking about. And then they take forever to calm down. I think they need some oxygen at times.

That slows them down, but I have never known it to hold forever. I had a spirit spamming Rit by the gates and it worked for a long time, but after a while it became too much. I used Signet of Creation to make my spirits last longer.

I hate the bug when one of the gate keepers or gunther says, NOT RIGHT NOW or IM FIGHTING or something similar. I use a GvG flag runner to run amber.

I hate the Siege attacks. They seem too overpowered. 259 damage on a 70 AL target? Are you kidding me?
Also, a lot of times you get chased by 4 Luxon Warriors. Their Coward --> Renewing Smash spike is already a lot, but with the Siege attack...gg
And the Commanders and Gunther are retarded. ><"

Quite possibly the most annoying thing about playing aspenwood on the kurzick side. There's nothing like an army of eight luxon warriors coming your way. I guess four wasn't more than enough to begin with...
That, and the fact that Gunther & crew won't accept amber if a luxon so much as looks their way.

The turtles with 1 monk protecting them can destory all the gates without a problem. They also can kill the juggernaughts before they can reach them! That imo is the part that really needs to be balanced out a bit. Skill from players goes out the windows when a seige turtle and 4 warriors are knocking down gates with ease!

Two other things to add
That the Kurzick equivalent to the Siege turtle is so easy to kite. I mean I was able to solo him with my elementalist.
And that the gatekeepers have a tendancy to run out of the gates. I even found the purple keeper out next to the mines one time because he followed a Warrior using sprint.

I'm a Luxon and even I must agree that currently, Aspenwood is badly stacked in favor of Luxon for all the reasons mentioned by the others in this thread. When I was trying to befriend the Kurzicks for PVE I was doing this mission as a Kurz until eventually I got fed up after losing 9/10 Aspenwood matches consistently. The Juggernauts would not even do anything! They just stood there against the wall waiting to get obliterated. Why don't they push ahead and kick butt like they do on the Gayla Hatchery mission? Fix Juggernauts and fix all the other issues listed by other posters in this thread to balance Aspenwood.
Although, I can't say I'm "too sad" about this since in my view "Saltspray Beach" is similarly stacked in favor of the Kurz even though it's not supposed to be. Seems like a sort of justice that at least there are equivalent unbalances for each side across two different aspects of the game.

Well I just came from another frustrating match with the gatekeepers acting retarted. We litterally had 5 people with amber, but there was just one enemy attacking them and they wouldn't accept the amber. We lost because we could not get the gates back up.
If anything I wish they would fix that.

I've been playing Aspenwood (both sides) almost continuously on my monk for a couple weeks now.
Degen--whether condition or hex--is what I see as the biggest asset or enemy to a team. I've played as a bonding monk on the Kurzick side and a heal/protect monk on Luxon (I don't see the point in bonding the turtles--I'm a sitting goose out there, and the smart players will focus on me). In either situation, I always fight against degen. I can handle straight melee damage--Life Sheath, etc., makes short work of that. However, degen, which I can only counter with condition/hex removal is the biggest challenge. Running a bonding build, I don't have the skill slots to carry a hex/condition removal. Running a heal/protect build, I have hex/condition removal, but that is limited by its cast time--much longer than it takes to reapply those conditions and hexes.
I agree it is skewed towards Luxons, however. Against halfways decent players, I lose 9/10 on Kurzick side, whereas against those same players, I would win 9/10 on Luxon. (Statistics completely fabricated :P )
But hey, if you play past midnight-ish eastern, it's much easier on the Kurzicks!

I don't find the Kurzick side too bad to play on. When i was getting faction for befriend the Kurzick quest, I found it to be 50/50 or close to anyway. I might even go as far as to say that I think we won more matches on the kurzick side.
My greatest annoyance was when both turtles and wars broke through the gates and hoarded the teleporter...couldn't get out there for the life of me as I would be smacked 8 times soon as I warped. Oddly enough we managed to win that battle due to our monks and rit holding up the npcs from behind the last gate.
