Status after this weekend (I quit a couple of hours ago).
I went from 2 to 31 fame.
Don't think that's good.
But I also know it's not bad for someone that was in HA for the second time this saturday morning.

A little off-topic now:
I played LoD/Infuse most of the time and ZB later today.
I have ran a Migraine mesmer once on request and a Powerblock a couple of times (for fun).

I've learned a lot about the way the early levels of HA work.
And also some things that can help me improve my PvP monking.
Things like determining spike targets and how to handle pressure.
I've also learned the importance of team positioning, HA is much smaller than our guild map, I get the feeling there is less room for mistake in HA.
I've also noticed it's important to have a good caller.
Not that I really needed one (my mesmer was ordered to go off-target and monks don't need targets), but teams without decent callers failed most of the time.

I had the honor to play in a part guild group once and noticed it was much easier for me to monk for them.
No overextending people, energy above half a lot of the time.
We beat first level quite easy, even when one of them (?) dc-ed.
The team split up after that

I forgot their guild name, but I remember they are Dutch.

I have not decided what to do in the future.
I liked playing HA, but getting in a group was not always easy.
And I don't mind getting beaten up all the time, but most of the time that means the end of the group, so you never really learn how to play as a team.
There were some promising ones that scattered after losing to a top 500 guild team, which could have gotten further when facing PuGs or lower ranked guilds.

When our guild leader returns I'll ask him about organising some HA events.
We have some R3+ and R6+ in our guild, but I don't know if they HA much these days. But it might be hard to organise this with guild, we have had hard times getting a full GvG team since most are PvE players.

So if any of you have some advice how to move on from this point without leaving my guild, please PM me or post in thread.

The only fame I've made was a single run while we waited for the runner to get back. Got K/o'd at Scared Temples.

On another note, I got ~400 fame this weekend, went from r5 to r6 and made a nice shiny 200 fame dent in my progress to r7. Now that HA is back to 8v8 I should be playing it a lot more, even with kill count in there.

I didn't do that much HAing this weekend because of exams and papers. However, I did take halls 3 times this weekend. The best runs I had were with these 2 groups that had no vent (got to halls each run with the group, but didn't win in halls) and with an icey veins spike (won halls with). I got about 100 fame in an hour with Icey Veins.
