A build capable of shutting down a Dervish?
Hey
Ok, so i hear from my guild and just randomly from local chat that there are Ritualist builds capable of bringing down or shutting down a Dervish. What i mean by that is, there might be a build that can make a Dervish useless enough to be killed... my question is, is this true or false?
I know dervishes are good, i've seen them in action and also having got one myself, but so far i've never come across a build that can bring it down if you were to go 1 on 1 with a Dervish.
Does anyone know of a build that can? I heard Rit's can, but i'm not 100% sure.

A N/Me or Me/N using spirit of failure, price of failure and reckless haste will render the dervish unusable, unless they have an elite form loosing hexes using attack skill (avatar of dwayna) or pious restoration. Both are not extremely common. Assassins using shadow shroud oir shroud of silence. And probably there are a dozen more. Dervish are for sure not invincible

Throw in Spirit Shackles as well, they'll be reduced to 0 energy in a matter of seconds.

It really depends on the dervish's build. Assuming you mean that you want to kill one and not just make it useless, you can go cookie: prison sin and toucher may work on several cases. If you're asking about rits, I guess Rit Lord with [card]Disenchantment[/card] and the other damaging spirits would work if they're bound far apart. There are also a lot of shutdown options but won't really do much if the player knows how to properly avoid conditional punishment.
But meh coming up with a build just to generally counter a not so popular prof. in ab is imo not worth it. Just lure to base defender and gg. [card]Base Defense[/card]

If you really want a rit build(by that I mean an actual rit build with rit skills) then I guess your best bet would be Disenchantment.
You can take on "Enchant tanks" pretty easily with an Assassin though. Skill like Shadow Shroud, Shroud of Silence, Assault Enchantments and probably even Shattering Assault should be more than enough to deal with them. Plus you get to be a non-SP/BoA sin which is just fun.

Warriors and dervishes can't really do any damage to me when I run vengeful weapon + weapon of remedy . . . they usually end up killing themselves.

Yea, Vengeful can destroy most melee units if you can spam the drain techniques fast enough. Also the Disenchant and Shadowsong turrent spirits can irritate a dervish quite effectively.

They still have thin armor, my hammer warrior rapes them. The moments they can do their insane amounts of damage they are lying on their butt .

Among other skills, I use:
Corrupt Enchantment
Drain Enchantment
Insidious Parasite
Enfeebling Touch
-8 degen for 10 seconds, and stealing 47 health every time they hit me is a good way to take them out. It's also great for the numerous sins outs there and increasing earth eles, too.

With FoC to kill things... ah the good old days.
Anyway, we messed around with 4 Warriors today. Things tended to go down very fast. ^^ Even your E/D earth tanks.

mmm... Sand Shards...
I once had a group of 4 touch rangers attack me as someone hit me with blinding surge... I slaughtered them all in a matter of seconds. I later figured out that in ONE attack I dealt out over 1,000 damage and my regular non-attack skill attacks were doing in 300+ dmg a swing...
Mind you, this kind of situation has happened several times (blinded and I have 3+ people trying to take me out) and instead of shutting me down, it turns me into a monster, dealing out 300+ DPS.. at least until everyone around me is dead.

Spirit Shackles doesn't work too well on them, they attack too sporadically to really put the pain on their energy bar.

Its one of the many things bound to happen with characters that rely on enchantments to kill other players.
