So top 32 is funny. The top 16 even funnier, including a very low ranked Korean guild who got through because someone in FFs failed.
QQ missed top 16 because their opponents sucked.
Team Chaos Theory completely dropped out of the top 32 after their loss to OUT because their opponents sucked.
In conclusion 10 - 35 is rather dependant on how bad your opponent is. And also shows the importance of winning round 1 and 2 - losing both makes you finish at 29 even if you win your remaining 6. So arguably, the opponent you get in round 1 can help you a lot. Getting one of the top teams will practically screw you over for the rest of the tournament . Even if you are normally a top team too.
In conclusion, while MOST the good teams made it to the top 16, a lot got unlucky and missed it. Too much luck involved though imo
And where the hell are vD?

It was an unusual competition, but I'm glad I was a part of it. My ex-guild finished 123rd or something. Looking forward to my transmorgifier potion - whoopeeeeeeeeee!!!
Good luck to the teams that made it to the top 16.

Yeah, and the fact that a lot of the top teams gave up after figuring out scheduling sucks or that they took a loss or two makes this tourney even less appealing...

this is not true...
the problem is losing to a crap guilds in the first round, cause you wont get points and wont get a high OPwin%
We faced iQ in round1 and still finished in top16... in fact i think iQ helped us a lot since they boosted our OP win % and made us fight weaker guilds in rounds 2,3 and 4.

Right, but you maybe got lucky with the rest of your opponents? those weaker guilds you faced in rounds 2,3,4 might not have been _that_ weak in respect to others in the tourney, our round 3 and 4 opponents finished on something like 3 and 6.
If you lose game 1 - you're going to face a loser in the 2nd round too - chances of your loser in the 2nd round being any good are not so high.
If you lose the first 2... chances of facing anyone good in remaining 6 rounds is so low. (since guilds on 0 points by round 3 will likely be bad)
we lost our first match, and then got Nap for our 2nd round and lost that too. this kind of sucked for us... when you're on 0 points for round 3 you are not going to get good opponents, you are going to get bad opponents who will overall give you a terrible win-loss ratio.
We had 2 tough matches and then 6 complete stompings. Including one opponent who finished on 3 points.
The lower the points you get at the start, the higher the chance of you facing a team that will give you a bad WL ratio in later rounds.

In other news: Sportsmanship awards.
1. Forsaken Wanderers – Wins permanent transmogrify potion and skill pin set per roster member
2. The Shadow Knights – wins skill pin set per roster player
3. Legion of Losers – wins skill pin set per roster player
4. Bruderschaft der Verdammnis – wins skill pin set per roster player
5. Storm Bearers – wins skill pin set per roster player
I guess the question is, what idiots sent nomination for quite possibly the most UNsportsmalike team in the tournament.

I really dont want to get into the whole dV thing AGAIN, but pretty much all the other guilds we played suggested us for it. Not our fault dV screwed themselves over and ACE cancelled at the last minute of the fallback time. Its not like we were trying to not play teams, hell, we all woke up at 4am for our match with supernova jpn (who are pretty cool guys anyways, even though they ran sb/ri )

Yea, the list of sportsmanship awards is possibly more amusing than the top 16 itself.

Sportsmanship in video games is retarded, if I decided to trash talk and you decide to take it seriously that's your problem. If you don't show up for a scheduled time or don't bother to schedule a time you lose, its your own fault. If you have an e7 you shouldn't expect the other team to not take advantage of it. Sure, this is a game. But who's playing to lose?

Hard to feel sorry for a guild that only gets where it is because Izzy hasn't balanced the game...

You don't decide, you do. There are no excuses for trash-talking, just confess being retarded and immature - way cooler imotbh.

and eF used soul reaping to win that game and later went on to win gold capes with HEXES ON JADE.
You can't fault iQ (or eF) for running some gimmicky crap on Jade that everyone hates on the ladder, for two reasons 1) it's a tournament, so you play to win, and 2) who knew that necro was going to be able to maintain veil on 8 people thanks to those spirits?
