This has already happened.

The guild wars middle class is dead. Just look at IRC. Look at any of the pvp forums. Look at the ladder and see how many 20-100 guilds are inactive or disbanded. Middle class players got sick of playing restarted gimmicks all day and left. High end players could run balance and beat hexes on jade and similar trash, but the rest of the ladder couldn't. Even when you win its just not fun. Build wars is only fun so long, and most of the people who enjoy that type of play (ie, skillless clusterRED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GOing) are working on r11 as we speak.

On the recruiting thing, it has always been hard to make the jump up a tier. Now it is impossible. Due to champ point farming and the uselessness of titles combined with the ease of farming to a medium rank with a gimmick, I wouldn't even consider a recruit who didn't have multiple seasons of top 50 with respected teams. Which basically means they are a member of honk, mh, cow, rawr, tag, dv, ffs or iQ already. Because there are no others.

Take a glance at the american ladder. After you see these current or past consistent top 20 teams, who is next -- a couple of gimmick guilds, a few guilds I have never heard of, and a collection of smurfs, pugs, and inactive guilds. Who would consider any of those as potential training grounds for a top team?

Let's just hope fury or warhammer save us from the competitive dearth anet has served us.

Hopefully people will realize that rating is now pointless after the first championships.

It's funny actually. from about 100 - 115 - 3 of them are iQ. Out of the "top" guilds you listed. Well I see some of them losing to gimmick trash all the time, recall splits more so than hexes.

And when I look at your list a couple of them got so high in the first place by running faggy hexes themselves.

That said that's really not the point, point is let's move on to Warhammer and Fury. roar.
