Small Tournament ...
Heya,
My friends and I are planning to make a small tournament amongst us as an activity. Although this sounds casual, it is anything but. So I am trying to come up with a gametype for this tournament. So, just to get it out of the way, here are the limits that I am in: -- It must be done in the Guild Hall as a scrimmage.
- The minimum amount of players per team is 1 and at the most is 4 human players. However, realistically, I am looking at a 1 player team. Which means it should be filled with heroes.
So my first thought was to have a full blown GvG with 2 human players in a team and filled with heroes. Another was to have a 1 human player with 3 heroes a team and have a straight team survival match at the flag stand.
There are a few considerations that I must ask myself though and I hope everyone else can also answer. Seeing the scrimmage automatically uses the GvG rules (respawn every 2 minutes, 20 minutes VoD, etc), how will the heroes react when they are respawned via res shrine and will they open doors and activate switches?
So, if anyone could answer my question or come up with a better gametype would be highly welcomed.

Heroes will try to run at the door, but fail miserably. They are unable to use any gate switches, so they'll be stuck at the door until you manually open it for them. After VOD it's not a problem, but will be painful beforehand.
Alternatively, you can choose a guild hall without any doors (druids, corrupted, frozen, burning, jade, etc.), though if you're in the enemy base and your hero respawns, he might end up running through the lava+flame sentinels

Hmmm, utilizing Guild Halls that have no doors is a good idea. Maybe I'll test it in druids. Just wondering though, for guests, can they visit other GHs that are part of your alliance as well?
Just to keep this discussion going, any more ideas on a kind of gametype?

No, guests can only visit the guild hall they're guested to. An 8v8 with 3 heroes and 4 henchies would be interesting I guess...Ganks, etc are all fair game.
