My guild has been playing at its best after elliminating rage from the guild's communicative repetoire. In my experience, if you want players to be honest about how they could improve, or just contribute at all to the guild I would recommend to ignore this post. Raging usually just results in dictatorship(unless the whole guild is full of the alpha type, but this is not usually the case). It's funny e-drama, but mostly just a way for the leader to ultimately play the game alone(pull out your spike build!).

Yeah I have to agree with Seamus as far as raging goes. It hurtes mah feelingz. :'(
Seriously though, I don't think it helps much. Usually the members get conditioned to it anyways and its pointless.

Stupid emos can't even tank a bit of rage!
eF, EW, Cry, all full of rage(rs) and look where it brings them!
OF COURSE rage has to be constructive, otherwise you're a retard, but people should really toughen up and get their heads clear instead of emoing. Rage does exactly that.

I think it depends on a few things, primarily on how you define "rage". Personal attacks on an individual are pointless and unconstructive, but every now and then a little "over-emphasis" goes a long way and draws the correct response. The kind of destructive rage that rips through some teams I have been on is very definitely a bad thing, but the kind of rage that is essentially motivational in nature is a big part of every competitive scene I have ever been in, whether it be gaming, sports, or business.
I also think that in a competitive environment you are going to find people, not surprisingly, who are competitive and want to win. I think that anger at losing is a good thing in such an environment, and people perhaps need to be a little less defensive and understand that it isnt a personal attack on their manhood.

More often than not, when the rage gets really bad it becomes an issue of finding a scapegoat for the loss, and not about improving the team. If you have half intelligent players, they should be willing to work on whatever it is you find they're slacking on, without needing rage to "drive it home".

Also, make sure you scream on vent whenever you use a shout skill (ie yell charge if you brought charge).
No, it doesn't help but it's fun.
OT- I've been leader most of my time in gw and honestly you don't need rage. You just need a strong attitude that players respect. You also need to understand the game very well and avoid mistakes (I only make one every year ). The way I see it with rage is yell at someone before someone yells at you. (Happens a lot in pugs, kinda makes you look better when you rage because apparently you didn't make any mistakes.)

On the topic of rage, a good old rage-fest can actually decrease tension between guild members, as I experienced not long ago. We lost to some eurohex on Jade a few days ago, and my guild leader and I just raged at each other about it. Internally, I was laughing my head off because my leader's voice was getting more high-pitched and he was using the word "f***" to describe EVERY word he said. It was so hilarious that everyone just lightened up after it.

On the other hand, yelling "PEW PEW" whenever you use a projectile spell is in fact proven to give generally better results.

This statement gives me the choice of choosing between either:
- You are the best guild wars player in the world, far better than anyone can ever aspire. One mistake per year is incredible, no way anyone will defeat you.
- You are bad at guild wars, because you cannot recognize your own mistakes. (Be it by lack of skill or blinding pride)
I know which one i'll pick .

Can you imagine a paragon with "Go for the eyes!" or "Watch Yourself!"?
Or a build with 3 warriors using "Fear Me!"?
I think I'd have to turn vent off. Or commit suicide.
edit: actually, the fear me warriors wouldn't be much different. It'd just be "Fear me! BLIND BLIND FEAR ME! Blurred! FEAR ME! OMG BLURRED IS STILL ON ME!!!!! fear me..."

that is in fact ftw. It's particularly funny when you're a CORE monk. and there's 9 people in the GH....That's some funny crap..and that deserves a rage at the team cause they went in with 1 monk and made us lose 2 ratings cause no one resigned...><

Make sure it's justified rage though.
Did everyone just miss that word (kaon being the exception) or what?
