lets talk about something good: GVG
just wanna have your opinion. since the only other form of high-end PVP is GVG, I thought that all of the whining people should(or did) switch to GVG.
why you don't like HA anymore? because of KC and lame builds running around supported by ANET. I'm in top 500 with my guild and I think I saw 1 or 2 non-balanced build in 2 months. that's awesome. everyone is playing balance and I feel it's really more strategic and "high-end" than HA. you have WAY more strategies in GVG that heroe's ascent.
GVG= creating your OWN build that works well with your playstyle, bodyblocking the flagger, splitting, rushing, defending the base, playing with the environments effects (burning in fire island, freezing in frozen island, catapults), flagging etc.
HA= running, bodyblocking, holding, spiking
I wonder if you, old HA players thinking that HA is dead forever, have switched to GVG and if yes, why? what team do you play?
and what do you think is more "high-end" pvp? for me, I think it was always GVG even in the good days of HA.
/discuss
P.S.: don't move this thread because I want to hear HA players opininon, I already know what GVG players think

Any form of true competitive pvp = dead because no more land tournaments
As for old school tombers? I quit tombs in december of 05'...I have just been chilling with some good friends in their pve guild since
If you want to gvg all you need is avatar of melandru + wearing strike and throw some hexes in the mix is for win

Yes because GvG and HA can be accurately compared in playstyle, builds, objectives, and character roles....

gvg is obviously better and more demanding than tombs, there are strategy aspects in it that dont exist in tombs such as positioning, split, use of npcs, other stuff like that. why dont i do gvg? lol, i wish i could. my guild isnt active for a very long time now, and im too lazy to find a new one (from experience, never join pug guilds cuz ull find urself leaving/kicked within a week).
anyway, that 2 months of extensive top 100 gvg my guild had were my best months at gw. especially now, tombs is a piece of filth, so gvg easily knocks out tombs.

QFT
GVG takes awhile to make builds & to get enough guildies (or flisters) to actually play it.
Kinda the same for HA as well since the amount of good pugs decreased drastically ...
That's why PVE & heroes keeps me busy before my bedtime atm (yes work gave me a bedtime now )

lol? and why do you think that almost every team copying the build of the number 1 loose every time? when we fight one of those team, we win 99% of time. and I prefer to see a melandru derv than olias+masters of whispers....
in HA, you just observe, copy the builds, and you'll probably get some fames. try the same thing in GVG and you surely won't win. it's not that hard to find a guild since the requirments are always like 600k+ balta or more. and you did HoH quite often so you have alot of points. any of you guys can enter in a top 500 guild without big problems and I guarantee you'll make fun.
HA=build wars and that's what I don't like
ritspike VS IWAY= IWAY win
balance VS heroway=heroway win
ritspike in killcount=ritspike win
balance VS balance in gvg= the best win

HA has higher rewards than GvG. the chest at the end, the shiny emotes and the satisfaction of holding favor for your continent.
GvG can be great, but only if you're winning. in my own personal experience,
GvG splits guilds up alot more compared to HA. in HA, you can go right back in and play again, gaining rewards each time.
In GvG, to go 30 minutes and lose pisses me off more than anything. you feel the loss of a GvG alot more than you do compared to the loss of a HA match, and the rank also influences this more.
my personal opinion: GvG > HA because it is really down to the best team wins. i still enjoy HA (not as much as i used to) but when i decided to get into GvG i end up asking myself why i didnt start sooner.

Yeah, GvG games matter a lot more to me, and in GvG's I tend to be sadder after losses :P
I'm not quite sure about the whole best team wins situation given the current state of build wars and lag wars, but I'll have to say it's a bit better than HA.

Most HA players wouldn't cut it in anything but r500+ GvG, so I doubt they will switch.

If GvG is so damn good why is it that my guild has gone from rank 122 on the 29th april to rank 179 today? why is it in nearly 4 months despite not playing a single GvG in that time has my guild not dropped further?
this thread is about as pointless as the pve vs pvp junk threads
