I ran into this in the Random Arenas and its the most hilrious thing I've seen in Guild Wars:
A naked (wearing no armor whatsoever just the underwear) necromancer, wielding a bow. The nec didn't even have Ranger as any profession.
Anyway, he just sat there, using absoulutly no skills just the bow's shooting attack. I kept taking him out in 2 hits (hey, he had no armor so I did massive damage) it was so funny our team almost lost, because were laughing so hard we couldn't concentrate. But it turns out the entire other team disconnected and went back to the RA outpost, so we won anyway.
I wish I could've recorded it with fraps. :P

spotted in TA - Me/R with..........
burning arrow, hunters shot, screaming shot, energy trap, ether feast, apply poison.
And a bow (ofcourse).
The person running that gets a 10 for originality, nevertheless.

That's by no means a stupid build. The SoR bonder is the most common RA monk build, but its weakness is the majority of it's healing is in the form of regen. It can handle the energy cost of boon easily, so why not run it?

Ele with backfire, diversion, etc. and Mesmer with Mind burn, inferno, etc. on the same team. I was a bit confused as to which character was casting which spell because it would've made perfect sense if they switched professions.
Not necessarily a bad build, but pretty confusing...

You really see an incredible amount of E/x builds running purely skills from their secondary in RA. It's mainly new players who are running high Energy Storage to help them E-manage, despite Inspiration being better.
Likewise, I also see a large amount of Mesmers running Elementalist builds, which is alot worse if you ask me. All they can get from Me/E is Fast Casting...Which is only useful for a fast follow-up in a team spike.

It's a boon prot, not a bonder, silly. Boon prots struggle with emanagement now anyways, they dont need a 15 energy skill to go with thier 3 pips!

that's because the eles really want to play mesmer but failed and ran out of energy doing so, and then they figured energy storage was energy management. Haven't we all made that mistake once? OK, so that was two years ago, that's besides the point. I remember making the leetest E/Mo with healing skills (Heal Other, Heal Party, Healing Breeze). Then I turned level 20 and I got to the Ring of Fire and I, completely by accident, capped this super leet skill called Ether Prodigy, which gave 4 pips of regen at the time, and I was like the best monk in the entire game.
Then Anet buffed Eprod and everyone ran an Emo with Heal Party.
The mesmers with mind burn just really overestimate fast casting. I've never really seen what's so good about those fast cast nukers.

I should have been more specific. You are right, SoR is a very good skill on a proper bar. However he was not bonding. And given the fact that he was Monk/Paragon he was unlikely to have taken glyph of lesser energy either. The saddest part was that he was one elite away from a pretty strong build - he had everything you probably would run on a boon prot if you were inclined to step into a time machine - rof, guardian, mend ailment, boon... But shield of regen is not even close to a viable elite on that bar, even in random arenas.
