I remember a dervish, and them spamming SV/Shame/Diversion all over me (the monk). Apparently the monk on the opposing team noticed when I used Purge Signet to clear myself, and said something to the extent of "LOL Purge Signet... you could just tank a meteor shower if you wanted to lose energy" or something. I retorted with something like "its called a low energy set", and nothing else was said, but afterwards, I realized some rather amusing things.
To him, I was exactly equivelent of a Mending Wammo, or a Mesmer with Headbutt, or a Warrior with Signet of Midnight. Purge Signet had instantaneously categorized me in with the utmost noobs in this person's mind... and nothing that I would say to try and convince him otherwise would work. In fact, I imagine that he thought it probably thought my attempt similar to a wammo trying to justify his mending with "it counters vamp degen". It kind of bugged me that there was pretty much nothing I could do to help this person realize the truth - so convinced is he that he knows exactly what is good and bad in guild wars. I imagine that if he screenshotted it, he will one day post it in the "RA stupidity" thread on iq.net, fully expecting everyone else to laugh along with him.
Sigh. Just food for thought. <3 Purge Signet.

Actually, while Ride the Lightning may be frowned upon, it doesn't work badly on a W/E....It is quite possible to kill a target with it (while under frenzy) while said target is knocked down by shock. It's especially fun when encountering a MM in AB....build adrenaline on minion..Frenzy>Ride the Lightning>shock>sever artery>gash>final thrust = Dead MM (or whatever target...)

I really agree with the general thing of what you say in there. A lot of people consider that they know what is good and not so well and classified some skills as garbage (on some chars anyway) that they don't really realize that it can be good depending on the situation.
Even in this thread there's a couple of things or screens people put that i think 'it's not necessarily bad'.
Example? W/E with Blinding Surge. It might seem stupid (and there's more chances that it is than not), but if you're running an adrenal-heavy war, BSurge is such a freaking good spell overall that i wouldn't consider it stupid to put on, especially in a place like AB where you can have sins jumping on you, etc. I mean, it's not something that i'd bring in GvG, but i ran BSurge Assassins (Deadly Arts or Daggers), BSurge Mes, BSurge Nec, BSurge Rt... basically BSurge is just good on ANYTHING and even 2 pips of regen can make good use out of it cause low energy spammable blind is awesome.
I mean, we ran lots of things before that i'm sure would be put on that page cause people don't really realize how it meshed with the rest of the setup. Like nearly winning HoH with 3 W/Es using GoLE-LSurge-LOrb, GoLE-Shatterstone-Vapor and Dismember-Starburst. Had big pressure from level 12 Conjures + Frenzy and a fun elemental spike that pretty much straight killed coming from the same wars (and a warder with OFlame so you have 4 elements ^^). It was just for laugh and kinda gimmicky, but it still worked.
As for another build that i consider stupid... last night in GvG we faced a solo ganker A/W using Seeping Wound for elite.

[skill]Shadow Prison[/skill]
More useful, without the double exhaustion from your suggested bar.
[skill]Iron Palm[/skill] optional :]

Sorry, it's not...that's just wrong. That same mm would just taste of death and you are powerless. With Ride the Lightning+Shock they can do nothing but die. That combo adds 100 damage, allowing sever+gash+final to kill. Try it on the barrels, the 60 al barrel dies, the 80al barrel has about 20 health left and the 100 al barrel needs one additional swing before final to die. Sure double exhaustion sucks, but it does work. I can't count how many RA monks I've killed with that exact combo. They have no time to prot themselves, and the spike is not given away by a hex. Shadow Prison is a dead giveaway, allowing time for pre-prot.
It may not be the best, but it is certainly not nearly as bad as the wammo I saw today with Ageis, RoF and Gift of Health...that's all I saw before he died.

I once made a mesmer with 16 illu 15 FC lots of sup runes and Illusion of weakness.
All I did was kill myself as soon as the enemy team was in range and shout 'omg noob monk heal me wtf' and scream 'res res res res omg'
Funny thing is I actually won a match with it too.

It's all fun and games until a monk uses Frenzy during Rebirth in RA. I wish I could've screenshot it, but I was too baffled.
also, a R/Mo using Ressurect in AB, and i've seen this more than once, a Necro killing himself with Blood Renewal.
Either there are lots of new players joining GuildWars, or most players are just plain retards.

RANDOM ARENAS CONSTITUTION
We the People of the Random Arenas of Tyria, in order to form a more Stupid Arena, establish idiocy, ensure a lack of target following, provide for the common Mending war, promote the general stupidity, and secure the Blessings of Illogicality for ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the Random Arenas of Tyria.
I found this constitution somewhere, but I forget where. And yes, I know it's based on the Preamble, not the Constitution itself, so before you point that out, I know.

Taxed, you do realize that due to the hugetastic exhaustion that your proposed style of attack, your warrior would be left with no energy whatsoever, and that the effective recharge would be sixty seconds in a long-term fight? And that he would be nearly useless in between? And that he probably wouldn't kill a necro in 2 attacks?
Perhaps not.

Ran into a very confused ranger in ABs yesterday:
Yes, he echo'd Wastrel's Worry at least twice that I could see. I do not know why.

I ran into a Mo/E with Flare, Fire Storm, Inferno and Phoenix a few days ago.
Then yesterday I faced a D/Mo with Divine Boon and Reversal of Fortune (reminded me of the FC boon/prot lol).
At first I thought the guy had to be a tard, but then I started to see a pattern
Mo/E nuker
Mo/W sword warrior
E/W Decapitate Spiker
D/Mo boon prot
Think about it....when you see a Mo/E you automatically assume he's teh healer, but then he turns out NOT to be....All those time you've been attacking the wrong guy, because the healer in fact was a D/Mo boon prot (think about it...you can dismiss your Boon AT WILL to get teh mistycism bonus AT ANY TIME!!1!), their nuker was in fact an axe spiker and their second healer was in fact a sword warrior
Mark my words, STEALTH is going to become the new meta
You heard it from me first
