I have seen some stupid builds but the ones that I feel should be banned are anything that has an Elementalist as a second. Reason? The high energy cost of the Elementalist skills effectivaly creates a target no matter what the main profession is. I have seen a couple good builds with Ele as second but they are few and far between.

I saw it in HA:
1 n/mo healer
1 n/rt support healer
1 r/? spirit spammer
2 thumpers
1 r/p smoke trap/song of concentration
that is the stupidest build i have ever seen. sadly, it wins halls almost on a daily basis.
EDIT: I ALMOST FORGOT
2x incoming paragons
2x thumpers
2x monks
that was the stupidest, but it got nerfed, so YAY
/idiotism off

I've seen 3 W/E Flare Spammers in the past 2 days. 2 in RA, 1 in Aspenwood. The one in Asp had Firestorm as well, zomg.
The worst part is... they were on my team each friggin' time.

Move to the front of your team in RA and use frenzy so that the opposition would see you do that and immediately all jump on you? Then you could stance tank them while your 3 teammates mop up on the opposition? I'm sorry but only stupid players would fall for that (which unfortunately there are far too many of them in RA).

shhh thats ok though.. no i would hide in the back and act unsuspicious.. and then a poor wammo would come over to me.. i would frenzy and take 12 damage because he has 12 in healing for his uberZ heal br33ze and healing hand5 lol.. and if i got in trouble.. time to stance haha.. works wonders where the noobs are..

Deadly Haste -> Rez Chant is pretty good
Axe/Sword + Shield isn't uncommon on casters. It's the -energy set. Haven't you seen monks using shield stance? It's used for an anti-spike. Bed of coals isn't insanely horrible in HA.

Yeah, there are some bad ones out there. But try this on for size:
W/Mo. Elite? Healer's Boon. He casts it before the timer starts, and one of our teammates leaves immediately. I had to know more, however, and so I decide to carefully watch this warrior. He charges out- power attack. I was impressed; he knew how to pick em. Counterstrike, next...unfortunately, not against an attacking foe. Counterstrike makes at least an iota of sense in this build- with one pip of energy regen, getting the cost of your attack back is very helpful. Of course, using energy attacks with one pip of regen is severely retarded (and generally not the way to go on even a nongimped warrior)- but that's one thing he thought about. What he did not think about, however, was HOW TO MAKE USE OF HEALERS BOON. His fourth and final skill before he died? Healing Breeze. Yes, it cast in a half second.

As far as stupid goes, those two have to be two of the stupidest listed in this thread.

gotta love random arenas, although atm the stupidist build would be the ele/dervish earth tank thingmibobbers, theyre just so pointless, you kill everyone else, then you have to hammer away at this guy for about 2 minutes then he calls everyone a nubcake and leaves, even one on one theyre redundant, saunter out of sandstorm, wait till it ends whilst he wands/stone daggers you, see if you can kill him, and if not wander off and do something else, he isnt going to achieve much.
although the flat out most stupid build I've seen was this warrior, a whammo infact, a REAL whammo, loaded, cast mending, ran in, and i mean ran in, died in afew seconds, spammed "REZ ME NUBS!!!!11!", and someone with malice of forethought rezzed the guy, to which he proceeded to re-apply mending, before powerattacking a passer by, by this point the rest of the team had wiped, as the other team had cottoned on and decided to ignore him, and with a mighty bellow he cried "I'm using Light of Dwayna!", to an awed silence, considering he was wearing full knights armour and at the time knights armour was knights armour and there wasnt any +5 energy swords kicking about, so it was infact impossible to cast the spell. He then declared the team "NOOBS!!" and left the game.
......a great inspiration to us all

Someone once characterized tanks very well:
84 dmg from Riposte: 4 adrenaline
95dmg+bleeding from Deadly Riposte: 5e
159 health from Healing Signet: free
11 seconds of 37 dmg from Gladiator's Defense: 5e
Having to let the rest of your team die before you can actually do some dmg: priceless.

What are you talking about? Those E/Dervishes are great because everyone seems to take it so personally they can't kill him. There will be often be four or five people pounding on him -- that ele is doing a great job stalling half the opposing team so his teammates can cap.
:P
I don't even bother with the E/Dervishes and the Dolyak Signet warriors. Let them be useless tanks, and I'll go off and cap some more. I will say something about the stalling tank in teamchat and then sort of vaguely hope people will listen and ignore him.
Anyway.
*goes through recent screenshots*
Spotter in ABs over the past few days:
R/E - Liquid Flame, Firestorm, Fireball, Flare
W/Mo - Healing Burst (think it's the same guy, Urania?)
N/Me - Conjure Phantasm that lasted all of 5 seconds (I checked. Ooh, scary)

I've seen rangers using water (vapor blade and water attunement) and air spells such as lightning orb or shock arrow.
Speaking of fire:
P/E using searing flames, fireball, and they're on fire.
Stupid, but not quite as stupid as the W/E I saw last night using searing flames.

well yeeees I guess that does count as a use, but they are quite good in alliance battles, as they can wander around and cap places by themselves, irritate anyone trying to solo them, and hold up half adozen players, true!
BUT! I was talking about random arenas, and other places where the idea is to kill one another in a friendly fashion, and I'm all for ignoring tanks in pvp, but the thing is you have to kill them at the end and that can take aeons >.<
oh and the habit of taking 45 minutes to die, then with their last breath, insult the opposing team/their team/themselves depending on inteligence, and leave! depriving the patient oposing team of their hard earned faction!, all 40 of it or whatever it is, but its the principle I tell you!

I actually run an Air E/D in RA. Air attune and AoR makes it +9 regen at 8 spec and you've got enough room to bring surge, strike, orb, GLE and a res sig. Mystic regen is kind of broken, I think.
