It is not a bad skill if it's used in the right team build w/ the right player..
I dont like using displined stance for the following reasons.. if you use FD, then you dont have to invest attributes in anything else except prot and DF.. while for Disciplined stance, u have to invest like 8 pts into tactics which weakens ur prot/DF and disciplined stance still only lasts for like 4 seconds... and with a 15 second recharge time, you are going to experience problems with melee training you.

no clue on imput but wow u guys have dissed like 10 monk skills and stances in trying to help him. really entertaining thx for great posts. personally i think monks are to easilly pwned with all the updates so just have 4 players that brg a skill or 2 that benifits the whole team. or be the leet derv healer. or ya use ure team have all shutdown against the enemy then ure fine. blind hexes against melee and so on. and mass kd that gets glad points constant sentance and pointless grammer ftw!

For countering a spike i don't see how fd can be better than disciplined or some other tools. If u use fd to counter meele trains then:
1) ur team isn't doing his job in shutting down those meeles
2) their meele train wasn't smart enough to pack a wild blow on someone or to switch targets

What I've already known: FD is bad.
What I've learned from this thread: Knowing that FD is bad, makes me look intelligent and good at this game and gets me nerdy new friends like Zui and that selfrepeating whigger.

this is where you definately need to learn how to play.
stances are supposed to be -
- daze removers
- absolute emergency situations
- to stop adrenaline chains
it is NOT something to use vs trains. people think FD is good due to it's low recharges, which forces you to use it often, turning you into a horrible player.
it's this simple.
look at TA. do you know the good, serious teams? have you ever seen any of them run FD? no? well guess why.
this point was unfortunately ruined by bad players, arguing that FD is bad. let me tell you one thing, you are not anywhere as good as most others that have posted in here.
keep using it then, if i ever return to TA i'll laugh at you for failing horribly.
thread is closed now because it suggests bad skills for monk defense.
half the posts on page 1 are fine, the rest is utterly useless.
also, you know, if you can get away with using a horrible skill in a "good" team, don't you think you would make the team even better with a "good" skill? how can people "train" you when you have a cripshot? and since when did glad titles mean anything? knowing who is good > glad titles, and i don't think anyone in here knows that you are good, except biased friends maybe.
thread is done, good job on ruining something that started out well. if you are stubborn and not willing to learn, stop posting and go back to Random Arenas.
also a reminder to certain posters that the TA section is no flamefest, no place to show off your iQ or anything else.
