Kuzrick/Luxon Faction - Best Spellcasting Class to earn with
Question is simple. Since my knowledge is well, useless for such a question, I'm asking what of the spellcasting classes (Monk, Necromancer, Mesmer, Elementalist, Ritualist and Dervish) is best to use for gaining that account based faction with?

Tbh, the best stand-clearing AB build I've ever seen was glyph of energy->Maelstrom->tenai's heat->searing heat. Since the NPCs will just stand there, maelstrom ownzzz.

Dervish, because they can run fast, but that's not what you meant to ask, is it?
Necromancer, Elementalist and Ritualist are all very good in Alliance Battles.

since when did dervish become a caster
anyway all caster classes, monk, necro, ele, mesmer and rit are good for AB
infact any class can be good for AB if you know what to do with it...
monk is pretty obvious, no need to elaborate
necro is also pretty obvious, either MM, which I dislike in AB but it can work or curses, my favourite
ele has some options, NOT terratank like some stupid ppl play in AB but rather SF(not preffered) or SH(preffered) or even sandstorm/churning earth in some wacky earth build...
rit will do best as an offensive spirit spammer to hold the altar but channeling can also work
mesmer can work either dom or illusion but you need to know what you're doing to really make an impact...

Monk is not as obvious as you may think. I myself use my monk for AB and i do nothing but smite which is extremely fun because no melee expect it.

It depends on a lot of things, primarily how much you expect to be able to survive contact with the enemy:
Nukers clear shrines fast, but as soon as you actually run into another player, you die, because they can avoid 90% of your damage with their WASD keys.
Dual-attunement air spike with blinding flash does great against players, but is mediocre at shrines.
Dark Bond+Infuse Condition+Mystic Regen minion masters mow shrines and are hard to kill, but get bogged down by having to cast BotM periodically.

If you ever want to play an MM, please at least take Verata's gaze. Then when the people are going "Oooh look, I have a flesh golem" (usually level 22 or 25, typically), you can gaze it, and if you're lucky it'll insta-recharge, cast it again, and you've got yourself a flesh golem. Quickly BotM so it's not going to die immediately, then laugh as it ploughs through their own ranks.

Rit is always fun. its also good taking a spirit strength build, running around with a staff for a while.... then when people are ignoring you (as they normally do with Rits), whip out some daggers and slice them to pieces. muhahahaha!

Anyway, why especially a spellcasting class? My R/P HaO basically kills off any assasin/spelcaster and otherwise I can run away from them :P , especially good at fights over an altar.
And offcourse RaOs, cripshots, are pretty good as well, or, if you really can't do anything but press 1 2 3 4 5 1 2 3 4 5 you can always play an assassin.
Basic conclusion: about anything can be good at AB.

Anyways, I think an ele would probably be best to start. Take something like SF... simplest ele build... ever.

playing ranger taught me how to play an assassin. playing assassin taught me how to play a monk. playing monk taught me how to play everything.
moral of the story is: if you don't play at least a few professions well, you'll never be good.

I'm the opposite. I use Ranger 99% of the time, and occasionally Warrior or Paragon. I have an elementalist I use for PvE, but I don't like being a spellcaster.
Anyway, Elementalists are always useful for clearing shrines out in a hurry. Besides, its amazing to me the number of players that are completely oblivious to standing inside of three AoE spells at once. Things you could never get away with in other PvP, works great in ABs.
If you wanted to go with Mesmer or Necromancer, very useful builds exist for them as well. Monks are a little harder to play well in ABs, since you're basically useless if your group doesn't stick together.

This is because people in ABs are generally stupid. I've had an ele try to cast Meteor Shower on me, as a ranger (hi, I'm Mr Distracting Shot! Though it's actually funnier to just let them cast it and then move out of it). I've had mesmers put Empathy on my monk; I've had a W/N cast Shadow of Fear on my monk. I've had various classes try to hex me after they saw me put Hex Breaker up. I've had people (almost always warriors) run up to the touch ranger I was killing at a distance, and feeding said touch ranger health while they uselessly beat up on him.
Yeah, half the reason I play ABs is to giggle at stupid shit like that.

Actually, earth elementalist tanks work perfectly in Alliance Battles. I can solo cap every shrine but the mesmer one. I can solo defend shrines, and kill oncoming teams. I can distract whole teams, provided they don't have enchantment removal, which 90% of the time they don't.
Tons of people swarm around me and try to beat me to death, not interupting me, or removing my defenses, or bothering to move out of my unsteady ground/eruption combo I throw under them then stone dagger them to death. It's worked 95% of the battles I've been in, with only a few hiccups here and there when someone actually knows how to defend against me.
So, who is the idiot? Me for playing a build I've found to be completely viable which I enjoy playing (oh no, I am having FUN playing a GAME, some of you people take this way too seriously.), or short-sighted people like you who are blinded by their own ignorance?
