Eh I don't mean 50 consecs, just 20 wins here, 30 wins there.
But yeah, during peak times, some teams just spec against you just to kick you out...

Its not so much about speccing, as it is about the high amount of diverse, often lame, builds - fearmeway, nr way, spirit pooping way, a/mo way, monk spike way, angorodon way etc. And its enough to get careless just for a moment to face a team wipe.

Yeah, definitely that too. There's so much gimmicky crap that require you to play perfectly in order to not die against it (whereas they just queue up skills 1 to 6 and instagib you if you screw up).
I just remember playing stuff like hex way or dual-Derv smite or dual Paras, beating a guild two or three times in one run, only to have them come back with a counter for no reason other than to kick us out. It's kinda like ganking, but in TA. Serves us right for running something gimmicky I guess. =S

RA shouldn't even exsist anymore (no monk or rit healer = no win + potential DH Hex or /report for leeching by emo's). Glad Title is definitely impossible to attain in a feasible amount of time (time > skill). I'm Rank 3 Glad and I'm a mad PvE'er who harldy set foot in PvP (not to mention I have all 10 professions PvE who've beaten all 3 campains and have most of their heros and good gear). Took me a long time to get where I'm at, then I got Rank 3 in like no time with the old glad point system. Not they made it almost 4 times as long so you're forced to face syncers and spec'ers to hopefully keep a steady flow of glad points coming in... Too much grind for me! Furthermore, there's no longer a point to glad-farming anymore... cuz Time > Skill (Contrary to Anet's philosophy). GG Anet... G.... g.....

Titles show experience, and they mean something to almost every group in tombs. If I want to get into a group that has a marginal chance of survival, I need at least r3+. Titles don't prove skill but they prove experience, and many people will accept you based on that. Titles do have value.

After playing with the new changes to the Gladiator title system for a few weeks now in both RA and TA, I am not sure that the intended goal of making the lower level titles accessible to more people has been achieved, aside from the initial 6x bump for people with existing Gladiator points.
Increasing the requirement per title level by 400% has not been balanced by a 400% reduction of difficulty in obtaining a Glad. point. In RA the average team is now crappier than it ever was when quitting was the go, consequently it takes many teams before you get one that can survive to 5 consecutive, of those less seem to be making it through to 10 wins compared to my experiences before the update. In TA it's better, but not 400% better, there is still a reasonable supply of RA random teams to pick off and the chance of 5 in a row is good. However TA is still unpopular compared to RA, usually only a handful of players in the American or International districts, whereas RA will have 4-5 American districts full of people. If it wasn't for the RA teams coming through I think TA would be pretty dead.
So in summary although the requirement for 5 consecutive wins seems on the surface an easier target, in reality it takes way longer to gain a title from scratch due to the other changes.
BTW. I have 3 accounts all of which are at least level 2 or more Glad title so I a good idea how many days average play it takes to get the lower titles.

titles have value to bad players. go to HA right now.
you will see quite many high ranked players -- now how many of these are actually terrible that got it by 123 gimmicks? if you know the HA community, you WILL know who is a good player and who is not, not looking at titles AT ALL. same counts for TA, it's even easier there.

about 3-4 hours of TA (euro). euro districts usually have 2 TA districts, and inter is pretty full also. but i guess you as aussie usually end up in the dead times, making it a bit harder. activity of TA districts doesn't mean anything though -- if you plan to pug, you'll fail anyways.

Cmon, there are tons of rank 9+ guilds that are quite good. They have title reqs. Of course, they get used to playing with eachother and get better, but they do have a title req. Why is it so bad to use how much experience a player has in your decision to play with them?

I actually advocated an antigriefing system like this before but seeing how it's implemented right now, certain things definitely needs to be tweak. I don't see any point in reiterating the points others have already made but just to sum up the main problem:
-no current way to show how many dishonor points you've accumulated
-leaving system is too black and white. Basically, every kind of leaving is considered premature until match actually shows the words victory or defeat. Which means even if you map out one second early after everyone's dead, you still get the damn dishonor points if you don't see those words.
The other changes to glad system seems alright, but my major grip is with those items I've listed above. Now there's already a lot of feedback on suggested changes and improvements. Not to mention this system has already been in action for the past 2+ weeks, ample time to determine whether it's working or not.
My question is when is anet going to do something about this?

Dishonor System = FAIL (it penalizes player for a failed team with forced time-wasting)
RA = FAIL (imbalanced teams and no monk means about 90% chance of no consecutive wins)
ANET = FAIL (due to too much attention alloted to other things and not deficiencies in GW like updates)

For the sake of common sense, Random Arenas are random =/. If you want a monk go to TA. Dishonor works as intended. Getting players who, for some strange reason, can't get teams and rely on quitting until he finds a monk. When you placed Enter Battle, you practically signed a contract that says you acknowledge that with random people there comes the chance of them being bad =/. Live with it.
It's not that hard to gain 5 wins than ten either. I've gotten to it plenty of times now without a healer.

You sound redundant like the rest of the newbs who say, "If you want a monk go to TA". Okay, the fact STILL remains (and ALWAYS will) that RA w/o Monk or Solid Healer [or builds that can become independent of monks (to an extend... i.e.: HaO R/P's)] FAIL! So if you insist on flaming/trolling all up on me talkin' all that "Haha...-Dishonorable Scum!-Take that!-Let us waste time dying in RA!-IDC-about Glad titles anyway so all you who DO SUFFER!-HAHAHAHA!" mumbo-jumbo, then you can just go ahead PvPing for nothing at all as you seem to be doing now because it's obvious that you do not value your time... Time is precious to me when it comes to grinding/working towards something... and to have Anet prolong that waste of time "punishment" for losers like YOU who care nothing about the grind is just ridiculous...
Oh, and I WILL "live with it"... I'll wand foes for an "x" amount of time. [target foe + tap spacebar] until I die 2-3 times (due to newbs' inability to figure out what the flux's capacitor's up). I put that in bold for those of you h8rz that like to quote me on that...
GG Anet... GG Newbs... G..... g.....

RA is totally the l33t arena where failing means failing IRL. Srsly.
RA is just an arena when you can't find a team and feel like killing things for faction. Nothing more.
You're good enough to recognize what a wrong combination is, yet you can't find a team? It's faster, has more of a chance of success, and less chance of getting an idiot.
Your whole argument comes from the fact that RA gives glad points. It shouldn't =/. Besides, your hard earned grinded title came from killing scrubs. Real skill.
Wand harder. The biggest thing that can't survive is a mesmer, and that's mostly meant for organized teams. Which you can't find =/.

Sorry Ulterion but your gaming time is no more important than anyone elses.
When people leave an RA match they ruin it for 3 others (Doesnt matter if they couldnt win, winning isnt everything. A lot of people just play for fun).
If you go into RA, you know you will get a random team. Its not a case of keeping going in until you land a team that will do well. Its about jumping in with 3 other random players and just having a bit of fun.
The /report and dishonour are good simply because they stop people who go about spoiling the game for others. Yes there are flaws like being stuck on a 4 monk team and having to wait it out, runners etc.
At the end of the day, everyones ingame enjoyment is equal. So people who go about reducing the level of enjoyment of others simply because they value themselves above others should either not play in RA or adjust.

So what, if they all /resign then you are out of there, if they don't then big deal, just wait till the end and quit. The lack of monk thing is irrelevant the other teams are in the same position. It use to matter when people QQ to roll monk teams, now they can't so that's that.

When Anet implemented this system, they ruined it for literally everybody I know who used to play RA. Our "fun" was killed, take that into consideration.

Apparently mine wasn't. I haven't played RA since these updates because I know I'm going to get onto teams with 3 tards or healers and have to stand there AFK waiting to die wasting time or else I get banned from PvP for leaving. Ridiculous joke.

So you found leaving until you landed on a decent team fun? Because thats all this update has stopped.

I will admit that they need to sort out a way for people to leave after a shorter time because of multiple healers, runners or whatever.
But the problem was people leaving from random teams without those flaws simply because it wasnt the team they were looking for. Thats not what RA is about. Its about going with a random team.
Do you know what it would be if the teams arent random? TA.
The only flaw with it, and one I do hope they will sort out, is having to stay the full length of the match. This is just because of runners and super deffensive builds or having to sit dead for 5 minutes watching 2 monks wand each other.
However apart from that I think the system is great, it punishes those who go in and ruin the game. If you dont want to be on a random team, who will have random bars, random skill levels and random IQ, dont go to RA.

Rotfl.
So, I won't see you in RA anymore and how is that bad? At least there are no leavers, leechers, afkers, runners. If removing you from RA is the price for fun RA then ok ;D
