So the dishonorable status locks a player out of arenas for at least 10 minutes? Sounds like a credible deterrent to me. Given that dishonor points can also be received by just sitting and doing nothing, the problem of players not participating to try and cycle to a new team faster may also be eliminated.
At least the gladiator title wasn't changed to a one point per win system. Offering better rewards to TA players over RA players is a plus.

Sounds pretty good, i can still get away with leaving RA teams aslong as i take a break inbetween to farm.
One question tho, will it prevent access into HA if i get a stack of bonus griefing points?
I can see potential for griefing in the requirement that all 3 other players must report the leaver, you can just refuse to report someone and laugh at the 2 carebears that got grief points.

I like the dishonor points.
BUT!
"Also, it validates the title for the hardcore players while maintaining overall accessibility to our most popular PvP mode."
Not true! 5 wins is TOO EASY to get, now everyone will just farm RA.
...just got my Subjugating Gladiator aka Subjugating RA farmer.
Weeeeeeeee no I'm obviously fiercely against the title change because the title isn't broken. The dishonorpoint system should suffice to fix it all.
Also, I thought there was going to be some form of VoD for TA/RA? People can still grief with Shadowform etc and not care that they can't play for 1 minute afterwards!
Oh, did I mention 5 wins are way too easy to get yet?
...not happy!

Yeah, sounds like it's not worth the risk of reporting someone to me. Unless you're being a griefing asshat and having 3 of your friends report someone you don't like.

QQ its awesome, aslo:
"As always, we'll be monitoring these changes and apply updates as needed."
So if the antigrief becomes abused its gonna prolly be changed. I dont think that you even can report anyone that doesn't leave? I mean Anet should be able to see if someone leaves in their logs.

If they get enough /reports (5, so they would rack them up after 2 games probably) then it's 1 hour, not 1 minute. Or am I misreading it?
-------------
My question is how does the /report command work? What about typos? Or is it safe to assume you can only /report playername someone you are currently gaming with?
Maybe it would be nice if it brought up a window showing the names of people you are currently playing against, or have recently played against (like the updated Friends list window now shows) and you could click a box next to their name and hit submit report?
Don't PVP much myself, but nice to see they are trying to do something about this. This is supposed to be fun, never understood griefers.

Yeah I wouldnt report when it only takes one person who cant be bothered and suddenly im getting points against me. So therefore anyone who reports when im on the team will get points against them so they wont report next time. And it goes on like that.
Also the title was never the problem. Bringing it to 5 just makes it easier to get. Stopping people from leaving while keeping the title the same would have been the best move imo.

This change will be good for new people coming into pvp. This will incres the player base.
The BAD thing is that you distroyed the old title.
Gladiator title will mean nothing now for professional pvpers. Also multiply of 6 is a joke.
Statisticly it is 32 times harder to win 10 times than to win 5 times. In addition taking into account the mumber of times those who won 10 won also 9, 8, 7 and 6 wins the multiply should be more than 50.
You made me very sad!

anyone who leaves early will get 5 dishonour pts regardless
reporting seem more intended for AFK reporting
most people despise leechers and will be happy to report someone who AFKS the entire match

Nitpicky stuff on my part:
Quote:
Players who report a team member for leeching without a third of their team also reporting that player will also receive 2 dishonor points.
|
In a perfect world, I'd like to imagine that people wouldn't leech. In a semi-perfect world, I'd like to imagine that I can always get at least one other person to report a leecher. In a world that isn't anywhere near perfect, not everyone reads your updates and I'd be surprised if I could get the margin required for a non-penalizing report 50% of the time.
Quote:
Each additional 5 wins after the initial point is earned will give players an added bonus Gladiator point. Thus, players who win 10 consecutive matches will earn 2 Gladiator points, those who win 15 consecutive matches will earn 3 Gladiator points, and those who win 20 consecutive matches will earn 4 Gladiator points.
|
I'd honestly rather see 1 / 1 / 2 / 3 or 1 / 1 / 3 / 4 instead of 1 / 2 / 3 / 4.
Quote:
All current Gladiator point totals will be multiplied by 6. Thus, if a player had rank 5 of the Gladiator title with 350 Gladiator points, that player will now be rank 6 with 2,100 Gladiator points.
|
My first thought is that you're going to need a higher multiplier than that if you don't want to piss off a lot of gladiators. 6 doesn't even begin to cover how many 5 streaks the dedicated gladiators have lost, or the number of 15 / 20 streaks they've made. You'd need a number like 8 or even 10.

Dishonor for leaving a PvP Match early? Say you join RA, two people on my team leave, will I get dishonor for leaving as well since there's hardly a chance at victory?

Hopefully this will making leaving a non-issue so that won't come up...but it is a valid concern and I will check with the designers. /resign would also be an option I think.

where you are really kinda hosed is games in which most people are afk
Ive been in FortAspenwood games where there 2 players and 6 leechers
fortunately those games are rare,
and its usually only 1 or 2 people who are AFK
(often leechers are repeat offenders - I know a few names that *never* play but always enter into games)
