If you're avoiding combat then you obvisouly would have lost the match anyways, if they're avoiding combat then force them into a combat position.

Have you ever seen a HB build?
How the do you force someone to combat when they are using Recall, AoD and Shadow of Haste so each time you get near them they shadow step to the other end of the map, and should you run into someone willing to battle it will most likely be spirit spammer.

Back on Topic: I think these maps are a good addition to the TA field. They promote splits and skirmishing which is outrageously fun and takes skill. Of course your going to run into the gimmicks and the "HB" builds (ie: HaO packhunter) but that will change as people become aware to what is need to win in the HB maps as well as the elimination and priest maps.

However before just throwing these maps in I think they should change up the conditions of victory. Right now the biggest problem Ive found in HB maps in TA is that you CAN NOT roll teams and move on to the next team making farming (or even getting) glads alot more tedious and time consuming. I've had some great matches in the shrine matches against some great player where I enjoyed the 10 minutes that it took to beat them (or lose) and I've had unbearable long matches where your asking your team mates if it over yet. Seriously games shouldn't end 20-2 that is a waste of everyones time.

Add victory conditions where its possible to win quickly and I'm all for these maps in rotation.

added: Cripshot > HaO packhunter. This will never change.

to other post, yea MAYBE, before glad points TA wasn't gimmicky, but as you yourself said this a/mo's crap is getting really boring, and TA is a piss pot for ppl with too much time on their hands or a guild who can't get enough ppl to form up a GvG.

End point the new maps aren't that bad, and are pretty fun, give them a chance, as gaile says you guys keep having knee-jerk reaction w/o knowing wtf you're talking about.

TA is already died. No one places it and the only teams I face when I manage a guild group are Ra players who just got finished with their glad points...Honestly I don't mind ANYTHING that gets players away from RA/HB and into TA. That is what the map change is doing.

its not that people dont know how to play them. (of course im sure you have used ob mode to watch everybody. oh wait there isnt any.) its just that they suck. the time is the issue. i dont give a f$C% about capping. i can do that all day. as for strategy in ra...lol...i guess that would be the prayer to god for a balanced team that can take on any other team you will face out of the thousands of players waiting to own your team because they have said a prayer to the great lord that they will have an almighty blessed team that can kill any team they face. However, I want you to look at this from the way I see it. Do you know WHY there isn't any discussion about how to improve the HB maps? Because people don't want that style or format of game play in the arenas. There's already a platform to play these types of games if you so choose.

Here let me give you an analogy. A similar situation would be if they added a relic running aspect to a GvG map or two. Even if you'd only be facing it a "fraction" of the time, it's still there. If the majority of the GvG community dislikes this change, and it's listed as a "test" why would anybody bother to offer constructive criticism to something they don't want...in any shape or form.

Simply put, shrine capping in general is boring. Thusly, adding shrine capping to TA is a terrible idea.

Since I made my little rant a page or two back, I haven't set foot inside TA. And truthfully, I doubt I will set foot into it until there's some serious changes. Congratulations Anet, you just lost another loyal PvPer.

First bold - How loyal to TA am I? Loyal enough to know when to walk away because it's not what it used to be. i.e. every aspect of PvP in this game.

Second bold - This was a very, very lazy attempt by Anet to try to muffle the cries of the TA community. Which such a lazy approach at the situation, it's no wonder the reaction has been so negative.

Do some people, like you, enjoy these maps? Yeah, they do. However the other 95% of the community doesn't. Ok, sarcasm aside, I haven't talked to one TAer that enjoyed it (when I say TAer, I mean people that TA on a regular basis, not the people that TA occasionally if they change something or the people that only TA when they win 10 in RA).

btw, I think you're over dramatizing what I said. Yeah, this is just a test. I get it. But when they "test" something, there's always a chance that it will be implemented, even if not right away (ex. /report).

I'm sorry to hear that you know longer enjoy GW's pvp. For me it was the opposite I was taking a break from the game (my first in the 2+ years this game has been out.) when I heard about the changes in TA, so I came back to try them out and found that I kind of like them. Anyway hope you enjoy your new game or pve whichever you feel like playing

This forums is NOT a gage of the whole TA community. Most of the TA players I've played with agree with me in that with some changes the HB maps could be a lot of fun, and that the matches we have with other strong TA players on some of the HB maps have been some of the better matches we've played in. AND yes Shiz I'm a TA Player, I'm in a TA guild and have been for quite some time. So by saying 95% of players dislike the maps just to "solidify" your point of view sarcastic or not is way off base.

Yes I was being over dramatic, however I felt that your KTHXBYE response to Anet because you didn't like a trail map change was also quite over the top so I felt the need to respond in a similar way. Not every thing will be implemented the right way but for the most part I think HB maps have potential to make the TA scene a little more interesting with the right touch ups.

After spending a few hours in TA and RA on the trial weekend, overall the maps are ok. At one stage I thought they were switched off as I got 10-12 of the old maps in a row, so they don't take over the map rotation by a long shot. As mentioned before I still think to 20 takes a bit too long (faster morale gain required) but apart from that they are mostly harmless. I have nothing against shrine capping, AB wouldn't be so popular if shrine capping wasn't fun. As long as they don't introduce Relic running as well

Worst update ever if they add it.


It really sucks, HB is totally different from AB.


Try having an HB build, going against another person with an HB build, that'd go on most likely for ages, since now most HB builds are heal your heroes and teleport around.

Turn that around, try having all offensive builds trying to split, it sucks even more. just now my team has destroyed other teams in an HB map in TA because we had 2 rit healers and 2 offensive players. Most TA builds have the main healer, and the pressure have almost no defensive, so they get destroyed by a pressure and that rit.


HB should be meant to be with HB, not with TA.

my experience over this two day is:
i am a rit healer and i mainly play ra, when my team is made of melee players(assassin, warrior, dervish), its easier to win in the HB map

when my team is make of casters, it much difficult to win in the Hb Map,

finally i find it interesting to play in the maps but i still want anet to remove the maps due to unbalance.
