Agreed thanks JR , that was by far the best Episode. Kestrel actually sounded like he wasn't bashing his nuts in pain and was rather happy and comfortable.

I'd agree, he needs to rage/rant alittle more, the way wheat does, adds a ton more vibe to the show, whether he doesn't so much because he's in a top guild, I don't know...

He wants to keep it more content-based and not so much drama-based, as was Wheat's way. Wheat's shows were always very entertaining, with edrama and funny sound clips and all that, but very little Guild Wars was actually discussed on them.

After downloading the last one and listening to Kestrel rant about core skills, I decided to stop listening to the sunday edition. The guy is a retard. The best part about it is Kestrel gets some pretty good guests. It's a pity only half of the questions he asks them are interesting, and apparently the same for every guest.

I said more content-based. That doesn't mean no drama. Of course he's still going to ask the overrated guild/player questions

Well, I have to agree that Crushing Blow not being in core is downright.... well, I lack words for it. I fail to grasp any logic behind that, a few braincells snapped when I heard Kestrel rant about that. I do agree that this is a pure negative approach, to only look at what isn't in core.
The best part of his show is without doubt the guests indeed. These little interviews alone lift the content of the show already above the level of Wheat's shows, which were frankly one big rantfest that didn't brought much if anything to the table.
As for the repetitive questions.... I can understand they give an interview some structure, something to fall back upon every week. I can understand the 'need' for some e-drama like questions like 'who is the most overrated / underrated player / guild'.
The questions 'what is your favo profession - what is your best profession - what do you guildmates think is your best profession - what do your guildmates think is your worst profession' is pretty boring and pointless imho though. I think many of the answers will be the same for the similar questions. After all, players tend to play one or two professions mostly. On top of that, the question remains how interesting this information is for the listening crowd. The guest usually already gets introduced with 'This is ......, he/she plays ....... for [....]'.
So yes, I agree that he could take another look at his standard questions and sharpen them to be more interesting IMHO.

Well about core skills, it's like he completely missed the boat on what the point was. It seems that he thinks a-net just decided which skills are core for this upcoming tourney, when in fact, they've been listed since before factions came out. The reason you have to have a lot of good skills as prophecies-only is because you need a reason to make people buy the game. If you made OoB, migraine, etc. etc. core just because they're "used a lot" (kestrel's logic), then who the fork would buy the prophecies pvp edition or recommend it to friends? You already get 2 less professions with that game.

That's too harsh, although he does say some contradictory things. He whined about people making builds which are way too defensive and the next time I see him in Observer mode he's running Blinding Surge. He offers NO insightful opinions as to how something can be fixed and instead just says "UGH, THAT BLOWS, OMFG", RE: his critique of the entire Ritualist and Paragon classes.
Also, he's homophobic and that makes me angry on a whole different level.

You play the game you're given, not the game you wish it was. If some stupid defensive elite is the best option for a build, there's no reason Kestral can't hate the skill and still run it.

I loved this episode, I actually got three of my questions asked. They were:
If you could have one extra skill slot, what would you fill it with?
When against a bsurger or other perma-blind character, how often do you call for blind removals? Every time it comes up or what?
And then the kicker:
Why did you make Kestrel play a song he absolutely loathes?
(Kestrel thanked me for this one)
As always, loved the episode.

Except he specifically stated that QQ would not run "defensive crap", that he hates how there is "no innovation" in the current Meta, and that his and QQ's builds are "different and unique".
And he died like 5 times in the match I watched when he was on Blinding Surge. So, LOL to that.

Wohoo! I contributed (in some small way) to one of their 12 losses of the season.
No, actually, I believe QQ is quite an amazing guild. No disrespect towards them AT ALL. I haven't seen too many of their matches on observer but I've always liked what I have seen.
And Kestrel knows what he's talking about, usually. His show and personality can be pretty funny too. I'm just critiquing what I find wrong or at least very LAZY about some of the things he says.
EDIT: Please don't edit my posts; ask me to resize the image if it is too large.

Aye, 'used a lot' is a poor criterium. The fact that they were introduced with Factions is a bit irrelevant imho. In the end, only one thing matters: does the collection of core skills make sense? Do they need to be updated with important skills of other chapters over time? (i.e. counters to shouts?).
Having a good look this is something that is needed, considering the lack of Crushing Blow and the lack of variety for Hammer Warriors to apply Deep Wound in other ways.
But I agree that Kestrel has an habit of painting an unnecessary picture of ANet as a bunch of clueless people that only make mistakes and do nothing right.
