PvP Titles
At what point are PvP titles worth anything?
For me, it would be...
HA: Wolf
TA: Deadly Gladiator
GvG: Champion
HB: Never
AB: Maybe R7 ish?

no title will ever be worth anything, people know who earned what and who did not.

Because the champ title is the best of the lot. Sure it may be grindable with all those sold necro spikes and stuff, but it's better than anything else, and I still think that it retains some value.

QFT. Sure r9+ might get you into some HA id1 pug, but you won't get into the good guild/friends groups. Champ titles might get you into some rank 100-300 or startup guilds, but you won't get into any of the established ones.
I'm one of the few that actually PvP primarily for my luxon/kurzick title. Most people with high ranks are FFF or Jade Arena farmers, so that title to me isn't exactly PvP. HB means nothing because I see ladder win/loss as a better indicator for skill.
Gladiator would mean something if people couldn't get them from RA. But they can.

I think for HA it was somewhere between R8 and R9 that I felt I'd finally learned everything I was going to regarding the relevant mechanics; when and where to split on relics, what to pressure/interrupt/block on altars, etc. I used to use that as somewhat of a vague measure on what to expect out of pick-ups that I didn't know and could only judge by rank. It's not exactly set in stone since there will be lower ranked players who learn faster, and higher ranked players who just don't grasp certain concepts, but if you were to pick an arbitrary rank, it seems reasonable to expect a certain level of play out of a r8/r9 that you may not get out of a r3.
I think glad titles are a little less relevant to their arena than hero rank is to HA. There was a period of a couple months where I spent a fair amount of time in RA, and after a while I started to recognize some of the id1 "regulars". There were some players I'd see on a different class frequently, and when I played with them I'd come to expect a decent player regardless of what class they were on. Then there were players I'd see progressing through the ranks exclusively on, say, a N/E (when curses were popular/OP). If I didn't know these players to see them and was looking for a rank # for a TA group, I could very easily be getting a very good r5 glad, or a potentially very bad r5 glad.
I'm not saying sticking to one class in arenas is bad, but for that particular example, a curses farmer is attaining his points at a similar rate to that of a much more versatile player. Similar parallels exist in HA, but at least map experience factors into the title, whereas in arenas it's a little more one dimensional. I guess on some level I'd still rather TA with an r5 glad than an unranked glad (if I dont know them), but I'd be less surprised by a r5 glad being terrible in TA than an r9 being terrible in hoh.

None of em mean anything to me.
Accounts are sold all the time just based on title. I've seen very high ranked players be very bad. Its not uncommon at all.

Wait, people actually think any rank of "Hero" is worth anything? I'd take rank1 glad over rank20 hero, anytime. If nothing else it shows a person is interesting to talk to, and not dull as those who have nothing better to do than play same repetitive pointless builds all the time.

The only things title do is increase faction cap and give you a map in your hall of monuments.
Otherwise, they're worthless.

Champ titles retain some value in that people with a low champ title give a fairly accurate assessment to their top level gvg experience. Those with mid level champ titles could have gotten them either from gimmicks or legitimately, and those with high champ titles are people everyone already know anyway. And if they don't know them, chances are they're from gimmicks from which that method of measurement is worthless anyway.
