Best AB experience ever for me
Hi
I was just nipping in for a little AB and we were in saltspray beach.
I was running my warrior dragonslash build. anyways as the game progressed i was alone rushing off to cap a shrine that my team refused to help me with (they insisted on gaining the upper hand - twas a kurz-luxon mob clash). anyways - turns out this assassin also had the same plan for our undefended shrine and so we dueled...
Immediately i use enraging charge and immediately he uses dash (bloody epic). i hack it in to get that 3 slash boost and hit once more to turn on the flail (didnt have any interrupts so didnt really bother to see what he was using). he slashed once, slashed twice. i severed his artery (he squealed) and gashed him with a right....it was time to use our big guns.
with a twisting fang he had it at me and with a horrifying impale he struck me, but i held my ground. IN goes the sun and moon! oh ladies and gentlemen it was time for that elite grand finale. IN it goes! yes! my chain of adrenal fury has begun!. dragon slash - sun and moon - slash slash went my sword. stab stab went his daggers. yes ladies and gentlemen - we were exhausted beyond recall.
with my last dying breaths i turned on my flail and gash...but oh what did i see O my brothers. a hidden weapon? yes. he removed his chipped and bloody zealous daggers and switched to those terrible leeching vipers that he calls vampiric daggers. Whats it going to be then eh? ofcourse i had to match this. IN goes my furious long sword of fortitude and OUT comes my Sundering Zodiac sword of fortitude! oh the shine, oh the glimmer brothers, it was bedazzling. retract we both did - and came at each other again. time to hit each other where it hurts! i felt my soul being sucked away and im sure he felt my righteous blade go through his elite imperial armour.
but...it is my elite plate that triumphs - as with my last stroke being a sun and moon slash...i fell my foe. it was not seconds before i fell to the ground myself...so lost in fury that i did not realise the viper's last twisting fangs grabbing my throat - bleeding it of all life. we fell ladies and gentlemen...we fell oh my brothers.
what happened next?
him: "hehehehehe amazing match!!!!!!! oh my god add me now!"
Me: "with bloody pleasure...what a great match...another perhaps ;P?!"
him: "yeah!!!"
we are friends now. this was one AB i was not going to forget :P
ps: although it was a lengthy description -this fight really only took less that a minute or two. but the tension was so high it felt like ages!
i know usually assassin and warrior 1v1 battles on AB are quite infamous and looked down upon - but it has forced Your humble narrator to play it a lot more often.

You made me slol again, You should always keep an eye on your opponents skill and the battlefield...unless your some SP 1234567 build. Noticing how your telling it like a story.

If he had recall it doesn't matter if hes exhausted >.> the narration is very peculiar.

NVM the narration is lol, also if you have a Zodiac sword im guessing your a pve char, try to get vampiric it would of helped you more, unless you were very lucky

Lol very cool story, interestingly put, though that convo after kinda ruined it, i was happily lost in the story there
I still don't understand why the sin didn't do a simple hit-and-run though

nice to see some people actually saying when they were beaten fairly and with skill. try running shock/bull's next time, you wont make a friend, but you'll laugh at his corpse ( I hate sins lol).

thank you. i was going to tell it straight but that would have been boring. reason i posted this thread is because of all the negativity there is (and justly so - there are some really annoying situations that can occur in it) in AB. wanted to show people that there can be good comin out of it ^^
hope you guys can share your nice ab experiences too (as rare as they are these days ^^)

haha well done, twas a pleasure to read. Ive got a simular tale of heroicism on the AB stories thread.
I think i've only ever been bested by a sin 1v1 once with my war and i think i was on the phone.
i love those lambs to my slaughter. You shuda had endure pain for backup, and with a conjure build he would have been dead in a lot less time.
A* (and im actually a teacher)

At 600+ max hp, heal sig is usually enough to stop a sin spike.
Moral of the story: use heal sig before bleeding to death...

And that's why I run heal sig + mend touch on every AB warrior. Time mend touch to remove deepwound immediately, heal sig once, then turn around and blow them up.

Best AB moment happened a few days ago
I was playing my monk and I play a prot build.
I was getting picked on by 2 assassins who were casting Augury of Death on me then teleporting in to spike me. They managed to spike me twice before I realised what they were doing.
I rez up and head out to the area were the battle was raging. Then All of a sudden I see the very samle assassins change direction and come a heading my way.
I use Life Sheath in AvA (underused skill IMO) and managed to stick it up just before the assasins came sneaking in. They unleashed their killer combos of skill and fury, Horns of Ox, falling Spider, Twisting fangs (1-2-3, 1-2-3) and hadnt actually realised that I was still standing.. Using reversal of fortune and dismiss condition I stood my ground and tanked those assassins (getting close to death but still standing that ground - Never Retreat, Never Surrender) Unfortunately for those two assassins I shadowstepped to my nearest alley leaving them crippled and swamped by the counterattack coming in from the south.
Goddam I love the smell of Shadowstep in the morning.... Smells like REKKING HORRIBLE VENGEANCE on assassins...(specially Kursick Assassins)

You know what they say, a picture is worth a thousand words. But it turns out crystalines and tormented shields don't maketh the warrior...as this plucky luxon found out the hard way.
Waaahahahahaha.
p.s sorry if this is you.

now here's my little story:
[epeenstrokage]
a little while back i was play as kurzick on grenz frontier with my lulzninjamonk build. my team and i just finished capping the stream attack shrine, before i realized that two enemy groups were converging on us. i called for a retreat, and my team ignored it and got farmed. i almost got away before one of the groups realized i was there and came running after me. they consisted of two wars, an ele, and a monk.
so with them plastered all over me, i ran for the resurrection shrine which my side occupied at the time. on the way there, i saw an allied assassin squaring off against an enemy sin. so i hit dark escape, and used return to teleport up to them, simultaneously snaring both warriors. i quickly healed the allied sin, then shot a disrupting dagger at the enemy sin to interrupt his combo. i retreated to the resurrection shrine and got healed up, while the allied sin beat the shit out of the enemy sin.
few seconds later, the group that was chasing me managed to unsnare themselves to chase me again. i protted up the sin, he teleported down to the ele and started to beat him to death. as the warriors ran up to me, i hit return to teleport down to the sin, turn around, and shot a disrupting dagger at the monk to interrupt his WoH, and the ele died a second later. after that, it consisted of running around in circles, some more ninja interrupts, and lots of wanding to finish off the rest of the group.
2vs4? bring it on.
