All I wanted was some weapon and armor skin unlocks with Balthazar faction.

The ideas mentioned for sigil, invites and other guild related stuff would also have been nice.

As it happens I still have to spend most of my time in PvE (which bores me to tears) just to get some decent looking weapons so my PvP characters don't look like trash from Wal-Mart.

Instead of basicly nothing ANet gave us something. Since it wasn't the option what I hoped for, I'm very frustrated and angry about this.

Even merchanting the stuff I get more ping out of my faction then another stack of tourny tokens.

It's better than nothing, but it's hardly ideal. We already have something which yields pve rewards. It's called pve. Those tomes, candy and lockpics couldn't be more useless to a pvper. But at least I can run around my guild hall really really fast, so I guess all is not lost.

agreed, I'm just really relaxed about all of this.
I played PvP without any real rewards for months now, still having a good time. so anything extra is a slight bonus.

I don't get why everyone is so pissed off. Heavy PvPers are getting things like Voltaic Spears and Crystalline Swords out of this chest. They drop onto a PvE and sell either of those, and they've just financed a fully decked out guild hall. Shoot, one guy got a REQ 9 ETERNAL BLADE. The heavy rarity of items dropping out of that chest makes financing any amount of PvP invites/sigils/guild hall services/weapons for PvP characters a piece of cake. I really don't see the complaint.

Probably because PvP players don't enjoy playing merchant. Btw, there have been several eternal blades that have popped up within the last couple hours. Definitely due to the huge influx of everyone dumping faction all at once, but still.

I have to admit the fact that the chest drops high value items makes things more interesting, I didn't think Anet would risk doing that tbh. I would expect to see a) prices of formerly rare items go drastically down or b) an update reigning in the drop rate on these items. I would think the keys are simply too easy to obtain by everyone to merit that level of reward... considering to get a truly rare drop previously you had to a) clear the UW/FoW b) go chest running... alot... and spend a fair amount of gold on keys c) win halls or d) spend a shload of reward points. Now you can spend some time in RA and get an Eternal Blade.

Note that I'm not complaining, I just don't understand Anets logic here.

Then the prices of stuff will drop obviously and you can't really make $ off it.

I think they've done it the cheap way. Pvpers don't need any of the rubbish that comes out of the chest (since almost all of its basically pve) Shouldve given balth faction pvp uses (switching guildhalls, guild npcs invites, armor/skins maybe, etc etc) ie: stuff that eliminates the need for gold from pvp.

That being said, I'm glad there's now use for balth faction at all

Well, remembers me of the old times where you had to have PvP ready PvE character to have better equipment and stuff.

As a free update, I say that this is good, because there is something to do now with that extra faction and stuff. But if this is the way ANet want's people interested in PvP. I don't think that this will help at it. Dunno yet, but as people said, mostly PvE'rs just play the AB/RA and stuff to get the faction to this chest. But perhaps some of them will eventually move to GvG.

Ha ha. Zashien Keys are currently selling for more than lock picks, about 2-3k, that will teach you to use them instead of trading if you needed gold for guesting!

I bought 10 keys with reward points and got 3 golds, a ranger tome, and some grog and crap. I reckon thats alright.

You realy missed that one Anet.
Why dont you listen to the PVP community before making those updates.

Had we cared about those things you provide in the update, you'd find us farming PVE areas and not doing PVP. But we dont, do we ?

I wonder why you people really think that ANet would do this kind of update (aka. new use to BF) to only the like 1% of the community, high end PvP'rs, or PvP'rs at all.

This was very good update towards to make PvP more tempting to PvE players. You get the PvE rewards as you would get in PvE, but, in case, you play the game that ANet at start wanted it to be. Player versus Player. Let it be RA, HB, AB, TA, HA or ultimately, GvG.

Great update in that means, but those who are only interested about PvP this doesn't bring anything new, you get same rewards before with RP and BF.

EDIT: And to the last comment, for 99% of those items you get in chest, you don't need to do any kind of farming in PvE to get. Normal vanquishing and playing through the game grants those items. Then there are those crystallines and eternal blades what cost you few thousand plats, but that's different story.
