you be better with Cruel + Lightning simply because you can spike with that combination, while having more then once source of deepwound on your para is more pressure then anything else. I'm sure Para's are considered midline. And probably do the best job other then the now guttered mesmer, mesmer >> Para still but is use to be by alot more...

thats not the point the point is its REMOVED quicker, or well if not quicker at least quickly, the same goes for deepwound but hopefully the target will be dead by removal time which makes deepwound > daze imo.

deepwound> daze because of the frequency of deepwound and ease of applying it. Otherwise daze>>>deepwound, because its rapes any monk as far as raw power is concerned. Personally shutdown>raw power, but in daze case, unless its the unnerfed broadsarrow you pretty much have no reason not to take deepwound over daze.

grinch, are you quoting me on this? i'll kill edru if this is still on the pvx irc quotes.
but it's true.
(vicious attack is a thousand times better than cruel spear, and expel is beauty)
and regarding the original post, all the p builds already mentioned are meta. paragons are the best class, imo.

You can spike perfectly fine with Cruel and Vicious on your bar too, not taking vicious when you have a specced GFTE is a big waste tbh.

Expel sucks at the moment because no one really runs hexes and Cruel Spear afaik is still bugged so that it applies the deep wound even if it doesn't hit (provided the target isn't moving) and even if they fixed that it's still a really good skill.

The last GvGs I have done, the only Paras I have noticed were Defensive Anthem. Considering Hex isn't current meta, Expel isn't being slapped on. But yes, Expel on a para is amazing. Defensive Anthem is iffy considering the changes to Mesmer interrupts, but it is still viable.

Cruel spear is just as common as DA now, if not moreso. I've seen rawr running Song of Resto recently. Sort of like the dom Mesmer, the elite doesn't make or break the paragon's role.
Expel isn't that useful right now. Hex overload hasn't been that common since the nerf bat struck it down, and expel isn't particularly useful vs inept/clumsiness spam.

No one runs Defensive Anthem anymore (I think, at least I haven't seen anyone do it). Cruel Spear and Song of Restoration are the most common paragon elites now.

I don't really like it but I've seen [rawr] and a few pug guilds use it.

you guys are correct in saying the current meta makes expel suck, but, imo, if you put:
DA in its element(high melee meta)
cruel in its element(lots of spiking)
and expel in its element(hex meta)
expel is the one that performs best. expel. is. the. best. paragon. elite.
and as for vicious vs. cruel. (i'm about to make a thread about it)

You are bad.
In hex meta expel gets humilitied.
DA gets up a lot because of chaining with aegis/shields up. In BLOCKWAY meta.
Cruel is good in any meta.
You are bad once again

You're a retard.
And please don't make a thread for vicious vs cruel, because it's vicious+cruel.
Again, I don't see how spear of lightning+cruel is any better than vicious+cruel, if not worse when you have a specced GFTE.

I think the song of restoration paragon is a pretty appealing template in the current environment where teams are looking for ways to replace LoD that doesn't involve running a vulnerable heal party somewhere, and is probably the most appealing paragon bar at the moment.
