If you think cruel-wild-lightning is "occasional damage skill" then you're understating their ability to perform.

Under your logic, a warrior is nothing but someone with redundant skills that cancel each other and an occasional damage skill.

Wild Throw, Damage
Cruel Spear, Damage
Watch Yourself, Defense
Anthem Of Flame, Buff
Shields Up, Defense
Aggressive Refrain, Buff

I think the defense on this guy over does the damage, mainly because most of your adrenaline will be used to pump out watch yourself.

You also see defensive anthem paragons once in a while if the teams really need the extra defense over the DPS/deepwound.

Cruel Spear is one of the few skills like the Warrior's Eviscerate, which has a chance of inflicting a deep wound and damage bonus on the first strike. That makes it very powerful on a spike.
