There have been a few PvE MMs saying this for months! If they had fixed this, the true exploit, the timer would not have been necessary.
In fact, in the newest suggestions (in Riverside) on removing the SR timer, this loophole is closed as well.

The problem with MMs feeding them energy is the fact that Soul Reaping is one of only two attributes that scales with battle size. All other primaries, aside from Leadership, are limited in effect to one player at a time. When someone dies, every necro gets fed.
