Protective Spirit or Spirit Bond?
Which one should be on the infuser?
This question has always bothered me. The two possibly best non-elite big prots in the game, but which one should be on the infuser? I have tried both, and both seemed to be fine. However I have been trying to find out which is absolutely the perfect fit. I saw this topic on QQ forums a while back, but couldn't seem to find it again. However, I remember some solid points on both sides. Some points I heard were:
Prot Spirit
Pros
Doesn't have to use Prot Spirit as much pre-vod, thus saving energy
(This point is kind of weak, due to the fact that both big prots should be on the spiked targets and prot spirit should be used a lot when pushing into enemy base)
Both monks have a spike counter.
(Great solid point)
Cons
Lots of prot spiriting to do during VoD, possibly too much energy to pump out
(Energy is rough at VoD, but I guess it is natural that so much energy has to be used)
Spirit Bond
Pros
Allows the infuser to have flexibility to know when to infuse and when to spirit bond. (Possibly the best and only point for Spirit Bond)
Infuser has faster reflexes on himself/herself thus, if spike is coming at the infuser, he/she is able to save him/herself with spiritbond. If a spike is directed else where, he can also infuse or spirit bond that ally.
(Not true, other monk should also be able to spot a spike coming on any target)
Cons
Both spike counters are on one monk.
(Then again, Prot Spirit is amazing at slowing down and stopping spikes too)
The other monk is not able to split as well with just prot spirit, rof, and mend touch as its only heal.
(True, then again most splits come with conditions).
Conclusion
With all the positive and negative points on both side. Does it all come down to preference? Or is there one correct answer?
Thank you,
Anata

Tommy always argued for Spirit Bond on the Infuser. I have always thought that was retarded.
- Your Infuser will in most cases have a lower prot spec. Higher spec makes very little difference to Prot Spirit, but does to Spirit Bond.
- If your Infuser is shut down, Spirit Bond on the other monk is the best alternative spike save.
There are other points too, but those are the main ones.

I've always preferred PS on my bar as infuser, I'd rather keep a spike saving skill on each monk.

Prot spirit definatly on the infuser. You dont need as big an investment into protection to get the best out of prot spirit so ideal for the infuser. Also as you mentioned you get to have the 2 spike saves on 2 monks.
