The Bottom Line: Every Gamer Should Read This.
For every Ursan, Blockway, Lamespike, Noobway, etc. thread on these forums, this article has the answer.
For anyone considering a serious PvP career, this article will help place you in the right mindset.
For anyone who's interested in playing games for anything more than the pretty colors, read this link.
This is an epic read for any gamer. Go to the bathroom, turn your cellphone off, put on your reading glasses, and take 20 minutes to read these articles over. If you decide not to, you are really missing out.

I think Ive had a pretty nice PvP career, and I don't think any of that would of helped me. Nor any one else looking for a "serious PvP career"

Took me at least 3-4 tries before it loaded.
Still reading it, realizing I will never be a competetive player.
I simply don't have the desire needed.
EDIT -> seemed to be an interesting read but pages won't load.

Already know the techniques of winning most of the games I play and generally excel in any new game that I join and find fun, but seems like it may be an interesting read nonetheless. Could be helpful in teaching inexperienced friends.

Doubtful. At the time of this post, the thread has only 19 views, so only 19 people at most clicked it through here.
EDIT: Having seen the error, it appears to be a database problem.
EDIT2: The definition of scrubs in this article seems to apply to all the people who hate Ursan blessing. They are only hurting themselves. It also applies to HoH players who whine about IWAY and Spiritway and other FotM builds.

This is really really old. I am getting sick of seeing this everywhere.
I play to have fun.
Winning does not equal Fun
In my case that is.
I don't whine about cookie cutter builds. I just plain don't USE them because I don't have any fun with them...

I can understand where you're coming from. I don't wanna get too critical or personal with the OP. But I'm sure even the GW programmers didn't think things like "gonna get into the right mindset, this is the bottom line!" like this is some extreme sport.

This won't load for me either. Any chance of posting a summary on here or too many articles and too time consuming?

I don't play to win. Caring enough to want to win that badly leads to obesity and puerile behavior. Not to mention stupidity.
Truly caring about winning in an online game = epic life /fail
Gaming should be fun, not taken seriously.

That only applies to competetive play, so it doesn't protect shit like Ursan. It can only be used in the context of a GvG toruney.

I havent read the Article (Wont load im afraid). But judgung by the comments of others who wer able to load;
It coincides to the views and my opservations of a few truly competitive players in other games.
1. These guys play to make money.... any and every trick/glitch/advantage (no hacks though) can and will be used by them to win, no matter what the cost.
2. They play to make money... not to have fun. Quite a few of them come home from school... train like mad and do a bit of sport inbetwen. Meaning hardly any social life at all.
3. Did I alredy mention they play to make money?
Most of them are young and dont really seem to have fun playing the various games, its just work for them (with exceptions of course).
They earn more than the average adult... but only if they are good or have managed to snag a good sponsorship deal. They can go to foreign countries and see... foreign hotel rooms and foreign halls with the same games and the same players. The others have high expenditures and little income.
Im 100% sure that I would never want to be like them... but all the more power for those that do feel like this is a life for them.

As pointed out the Sirlin article is old.
I also remember the last time this came up the topic focused on that he's referring to competitive fighting games, such as Street Fighter and Guilty Gear, which have significant differences than a team based competitive game which requires balance.
The article in parts is referring to things like Sol's infinite corner loop more than likely. Such a technique is in the game, and not using it is handicapping yourself regardless of how cheap it's nature may be.

Try to read more than first sentence
"Let’s return to the group of scrubs. They don’t know the first thing about all the depth I’ve been talking about. Their argument is basically that ignorantly mashing buttons with little regard to actual strategy is more “fun."
Ursan lovers fit nicely there ^^
But talking seriously what i've read so far has nothing in common with any PvE activities. You can't "win" anything in PvE, if you think otherwise you are just fooling yourself.
