I wouldn't mouth off too much, Harold Chow is a Lawyer who is also qualified in Computer Science, hence probably knows a fair bit about defamation law and public forums.

I will give him that it became more mainstream so that everyone down to the rank 5000 guilds are running it. However, he seems to imply that ViO was what caused sinsplit to develop as a build strategy. I'd personally use the words "proliferated sinsplit" or "popularized sinsplit" as opposed to "given rise to sinsplit" if I wanted it to mean that it became much more mainstream. A technicality, yes, but he's a lawyer (according to erk), so it makes sense.
Now I'll let Mitch have his fun posting here, and I'll see if this thread gets nuked by Moko by the time I wake up

I think you will find if you read some of his other match reports going back over the last couple of years that he know about Sins splitting off to eliminate NPC's and you have simply misinterpreted his sentence about the rise.

Id like to see him with his balanced stance monk pre-veil against shroud of silence and keep up 2 archers at opposing sides of a base against instagib combos.

Common trolling, instead of just reading the article and taking it as a slightly informative match report, they want to discredit the author to somehow elevate their own status, that's all. I wouldn't worry about it.

Defending someone who appears dumb and uninformed makes you look, well....
But anyways, i'm running balanced stance on all my monk base defenders, i mean at only two tactics its such an easy counter to sin-splits. It stops everything that makes sins-split powerful in this meta, right?

Just because Harold Chow is not an expert PVP-er (from what you guys say), but he is able to keep a neutral tone and not flame when he writes about the current metagame and the monthly tournament (despite your personal likes or dislikes related to these topics) doesn't allow you guys to troll him like this...
However... seeing even moderators join the flaming war it's no wonder why Anet doesn't take this forum so much seriously and prefers to collect feedback on the official wiki
Keep doing it guys, you're great at it maybe the guru high end pvp "voice" might soon just disappear from Anet radar completely...

Look folks, please understand the audience those articles are targeted at - it's not folks trolling here who can see for themselves what happened by obsing the match.
One reason why I got Yue on board writing was so ANet would have a writer who was more respected by high end players. Harold does his thing, Yue does his thing, I do my thing. They all have different audiences and purposes, because quite frankly there are a lot of segmented groups in Guild Wars now and ANet is trying to appeal to more than one.
Anyway, I think it's pretty lame to flame someone, and then for everyone to jump on the bandwagon - when the guy isn't even here to respond.
If you want to talk about balance or Sins or whatever, I think there are other more appropriate threads for those discussions.
