One of the reasons I think is that people could go into Alliance Battles and Edge bomb their own base Fun times.

I Guess Dual Para was most overpowered..
But if u compare the skills/builds today with the skills/builds one and a half year ago, Everything is overpowered...
Nightfall just fked the game up badly.. and so did anets stupid mechanic changes to a working HA.
End of Guild Wars? Sadly yes.

If almost everything is over powered compared to what it was and objectives have changed. I don't see it as that unbalanced.
You see 8 hour holds with blood spike any more?
...Don't think so.

Lol?
You say blood spike was overpowered? haha
I didnt even see 8 hours holding by b-spike back then , if it did happen ..
Shame on those who couldnt get a b-spike of the altar.
And the reason we dont see people hold for hours today is because alot of the good people have left and hoh being so fkin random.

I think that blood spike was over powered for effort put in yes. I also think on the altar it was pretty over powered because of so much healing.

See? .
On a serious note. One gram weight on one side of the scales. Two gram weight on the other. Old school GW.
One tonne weight on one side. One tonne and one gram weight on other side. Current GW. Sure it is not entirely balanced but it kind of is. Just relative; in addition, so long as the bar in the middle doesn't break it isn't too bad. What causes the bar to break? Partly 32+ months of a game being out. You know?
Are you 'takida is lame'. The guy who never plays HA. Just posts the same crap every time saying how HA is dead. Or someone else?

Quite obviously any build that I was playing in.
On a not so serious note I would say the D/Mo sand of shards build with spirtbond, Old ranger spike spam, Pre nerfed iway when TF and Iway stacked and also jagged bones hexway to name a few.

Indeed. EoE dropped at the last minute could kill the winning team in HoH, meaning they could never claim their drops from the chest. It was also making AB's a joke, with people bombing their own teams bases.

Spirit Spam was still more overpowered ^^
But, these ancient builds were so overpowered due to lack of game mechanics...
Think about it, you COULDN'T kill the goddamn spirirts, offcorse it was overpowered... Bspike holding? There was NO enchant removal, besides Profane and NR (They were very prominant back than tough), Bspike was after NR/Tranq tough, so you could vamp the spirirts down, so only profane could really take a bloodspike down... Rend was 5 second cast I think (Or 3, either way, it sucked), and was the only enchant removal...
Problem now is that not everything is overpowered, but certain skills are. Why run a earth/air ele when u can run a fire ele who can spam 142 Dmg rodgorts invocation every 5 seconds? Why run BHA ranger when U can run a thumper, etc...
Anet left skill balance way to long ago, thus ending up with about 20-30 "Must" bars, if your build doesn't have atleast 4-5 of these, well , you can always hope for a "randomway" in UW, and than hope for a skip...

wrong. Skills aren't only balanced in relation to each other, but they are also balanced in relation to what's called "game mechanics"- a player got a 480 hp, moves at a specific speed, attacks at a specific speed, has an amount of energy, has a specific cast range, etc.
That's a pretty radical example, but if there was a situation of complete balance between the skills, but everybody would do 150 damage per second, the game wouldn't be in balance because fights would last 5 seconds.

I recall this build being very easy to beat... minions AI = fail, stand behind wall and gg, add that to a very bad defensive capability.
Again, nothing was more overpowered than spiritspam...

Yea, minion factory was really easy to beat, but it was just funny to watch. The few times that I PuGed it, we lost most of the time, but the times that we faced bad teams it was just hilarious to watch them get ripped up by 40+ fiends.

Prot and other defensive crap also improved to avoid quick fights even if the damage output is more. We are mostly talking about skill balance. I don't think they made players suddenly move 500 MPH or something ridiculous. Attack speed got capped. Didn't you know?

You might want to quote all of what I'm saying. Or reply to my point as a whole and not a sentence... Here's some help:

His very point is that certain things are stuck at the same level and that you can't do the "everything is overpowered so it's all balanced" after a certain point. If things get too powerful, even if the prot keeps up, it turns more and more into a reflex/ping game. Things get faster and faster, precluding any possibilities of actual long-term strategic and tactical planning.

You might want to see what I was actually arguing with e.g. read the thread. With that in mind, his point was completely moot.
Now please don't argue for someone else, one idiot is enough to put up with.
